The Thandon Cluster,[3] also known as the Thandon Nebula,[2] was a region with the characteristics of a star cluster[3] and a nebula that was situated in the Corporate Sector[2] of the Outer Rim Territories.[1] To its south ran the hyperlane known as the Authority Guardian Corridor, while the Shaltin Tunnels hyperspace route passed through the Thandon Cluster's western section. To the north of the area, a third hyperlane passed through its fringes, terminating at[2] the Thandon Cluster's Dostra system.[3]
The Dostra system contained the planet Brosi, which was the only inhabited world in the Thandon Cluster, being home to a population of near-Humans known as the Brosins.[3] The Thandon Cluster eventually came under the control of the Corporate Sector Authority, which struggled with developing[2] the remote area.[3] By 2 ABY,[4] the Corporate Sector Authority had established mining operations on Brosi, with the planet's population by that time also including Humans and numbering nineteen million.[3]
Behind the scenes[]
The Thandon Cluster was first mentioned in Alliance Intelligence Reports, a 1995 sourcebook for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. In the book, the Thandon Cluster planet Brosi was illustrated by Mike Vilardi.[3] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas subsequently introduced the alternate name "Thandon Nebula" and placed the region in grid square S-3.[2]
