The Clone Wars: Strange Allies is an issue of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars graphic novella series. It is a standalone comic book, though it features characters from the The Clone Wars: Secret Missions book-series, and is set after the events of Duel at Shattered Rock. It also includes The Clone Wars: Opress Unleashed, which was an excerpt from the issue made available for Free Comic Book day.
Publisher's summary[]
With so many Jedi Generals occupied with the Clone Wars, assignments that would usually go to Knights or Masters are falling to Jedi in training—in this case, masterless Padawan Nuru Kungurama. Accompanied by his squad of clone troopers and a hulking swoop biker named Gizz, Nuru's job begins as a routine protection detail, but soon evolves to include a mystery massacre, the hijacking of a space freighter, and the kidnapping of a group of orphaned younglings!
Development[]
Windham's involvement in the Star Wars universe has largely been freelance writing assignments, rather than his own story ideas. As such, he was told to include Savage Opress in the comic book by Lucasfilm.[3]
