"The Duel in Space" is a comic story published in the magazine LEGO Star Wars 116 on November 1, 2024.^[1]

Plot summary[]

Resistance Commander Poe Dameron leads his fellow Black Squadron members Jessika Pava and Temmin Wexley along with Cobalt Squadron who's bombers are collapsing, back to the Resistance base on D'Qar. Suddenly a First Order Resurgent-class Star Destroyer exits hyperspace and deploys a group of TIE/sf space superiority fighters led by Kylo Ren in his TIE/vn space superiority fighter.

The TIEs engage the Resistance ships. Kylo Ren recognizes Poe Dameron's X-wing and vows to get him back for destroying Starkiller Base. The Resistance X-wings and bombers shoot down several TIEs. Jessika and Temmin count their downed TIEs in a competition to see which one will get more. Kylo Ren has a dogfight with Poe as they both taunt each other. BB-8 leaves Poe to help the collapsing bombers. The astromech droid helps put the bombers' pieces back on, but a TIE tries to shoot him. The gunner of one of the bombers shoots down the TIE.

Poe and Kylo are locked in a stalemate, but the former eventually gets the upper hand and damages Ren's starfighter. The Resistance ships jump to hyperspace as Kylo asks to be towed back to the Star Destroyer. At D'Qar, Goss Toowers gives Poe an overdrive thruster for his X-wing which Dameron uses in the upcoming Battle of D'Qar.
