Plot summary[]
Auto theft[]
The episode opens with a band consisting of a Gozzo, Rodian, Gigoran, and Bith playing at Hap's Sap Tap. Jedi Initiates Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay and Nubs are eating Mossberry Biscuits while waiting for their friend Nash Durango. Brightstar and Solay notice Durango is late and wonder what is delaying her. Nubs speaks in Pooba. Nearby, Hap serves Mossbery Biscuits to a human boy named Ori, who claims he left his credits at home. Brightstar pays for the boy and the two strike up a friendship.
Meanwhile, an ectastic Durango and her droid RJ-83 cruise through the streets of Kublop Springs in her new red and white landspeeder, which she plans to show to her friends. Durango enters Hap's Sap Tap and tells her Jedi friends about her landspeeder, which her mother helped her build. Durango is noticed by Ori who discreetly leaves the cafe. When Durango shows her friends the speeder, she discovers that someone has stolen it. Durango is upset due to the amount of work she and her mother put into building it. Solay notices that the thief left several Mossberry Biscuit fragments behind. Brightstar realizes that Ori stole Durango's landspeeder.
Hap is surprised that Ori would steal Durango’s landspeeder, regarding him as a "sweet kid." Solay thinks they should presume Ori's innocence and asks where they can find him. Hap says he lives in a town called Aklyrr Bend, which is nearby. Solay leads the way while Durango tasks RJ with guarding the Crimson Firehawk due to the recent speeder theft.
Visiting Aklyrr Bend[]
The four younglings travel to Aklyrr Bend on speeder bikes. Durango notices the town is quiet while Brightstar suggests visiting an inn called Aklyrr Inn to ask about Ori's whereabouts. The inn's patrons initially react with silence until Brightstar speaks with the Jablogian bartender Drahric, seeking Ori's whereabouts. A green-skinned Twi'lek woman leaves discretely. The Jablogian advises the children to leave his town but Durango is determined to question Ori about her stolen speeder.
Drahric explains that Ori is a member of a biker gang known as the Ganguls, who took over Aklyrr Bend in recent history. He says that the gang steals their belongings and terrorises the townsfolk. Drahric explains that Ori sometimes works for them. Brightstar spots Ori rummaging through their speeder bikes and the group rush outside to confront him. Ori flees into a warehouse and runs on the platforms. Solay corners him but he jumps down to the ground only to be cornered by Brightstar, Nubs, and Durango.
When Solay asks if he was involved in the theft of Durango's speeder, Ori says the gang forced him to, adding that the gang forces Younglings like him to commit crimes. Durango replies that he could have refused. Ori responds that the Ganguls punish youths who don’t do their bidding by placing them in a holding cell or kicking them out of town. When Nubs asks him what happened to the speeder, Ori explains that the speeder is at the Mayor's office, adding that the Ganguls drove the mayor out and took over his office.
Confronting the Ganguls[]
Ori is afraid of the gang but Brightstar is determined to confront the gang, saying that Jedi face "bad guys." Leading the way, Brightstar knocks on the door of the former mayor's office, which the Ganguls have turned into their gang pad. He is greeted by a Quarren man named Jooro Jarrot "Speeds" who asks what is their business here. When Brightstar says he is seeking Nash's speeder, Jarrot claims that everything inside belongs to them. Durango suggests that some of the items may have had previous owners and adds that she heard that the Ganguls like to steal things.
Jarrot denies he is a Gangul however another male associate calls for his help in disassembling Ori's stolen speeder. Jarrot claims his friend doesn't know what he is talking about but Durango and her friends force their way inside. They find other stolen belongings and the Anzellan Toda-Joh working on Durango's speeder. Brightstar and Nubs realize that the people inside are indeed Ganguls. The visitors are confronted by the Ganguls' Trandoshan leader Sellaccc Orryak, who orders the younglings to leave while wielding her vibro-ax.
Brighstar says that they will not leave until they have returned their stolen goods. Brightstar, Solay and Nubs draw their lightsabers but Orryak is not intimidated. Toda-Joh uses a magnet gun to snatch the younglings' lightsabers while Speeds traps them with a net. Orryak orders her associates to lock the group inside a holding cell and tasks Ori with guarding them.
Inside the cell, Durango attempts to contact RJ-83 but Ori explains that the Ganguls have jammed the town's signals. When Brightstar asks Ori if he wants to help the gang steal things, Ori admits he does not like what the gang doing but says that he is afraid to stand up to them since they control the town. Ori says he is just one person. Solay disagrees saying that if the town stands up to the Ganguls, they can make a difference. Brightstar adds that Ori has the keycard that will free them and appeals to him for help. Ori is moved and agrees to rally the townspeople.
United we stand[]
Later, Ori speaks to the townsfolk at Aklyrr Inn, urging them to help him and the Jedi stand up to the Ganguls. He says that he made a mistake helping the Ganguls, who have dominated the town for too long. While the Ganguls may be tough, he says there are only three of them. He and the Jedi believe they can stand up to the gang but only with the help of the entire town. Drahric is skeptical of their chances of success but Solay says that if they stand up together, they may have a chance. Nubs, Ori, and the townsfolk voice their agreement. Ori asks who is with him.
The Jedi, Ori, Durango and the townsfolk confront the Ganguls outside their gang pad, telling them to leave their town and return their stolen belongings. Orryak warns them to go home before there is trouble, particularly Ori. Ori replies that he is not going to let them tell him want to do. Drahric tells them to leave. Toda-Joh and Jarrot are visibly intimidated by the defiant townsfolk. Orryak pretends to comply but she and her associates escape in two speeders including Nash's speeder into the nearby river.
The Jedi, Durango, and Ori give chase in four speeder bikes along the river. The Ganguls speed up but find a waterfall in their path. Orryak attempts to drive Durango's speeder through a narrow canyon opening to avoid the waterfall but the speeder is too broad and her speeder hits a rock. The Ganguls abandon the stolen speeder and other stolen goods in a trailer but vow vengeance. Orryak along with Jarrot and the Toda-Joh escape on their speeder bike through the narrow canyon. The Ganguls also abandon several of their stolen goods. While Durango is upset at the damage caused to her speeder while Brightstar says that they managed to recover most of the stolen goods. Ori thinks the Ganguls won’t be back for a long time after the town stood to them.
Reconciliation and celebration[]
Later, Ori apologizes to Durango for stealing her speeder. Durango forgives him and invites him to help her repair the speeder, saying that he could learn about speeders. Ori agrees to the deal. Drahric thanks the Jedi for teaching them to stand up for themselves. Ori adds that they are stronger together. Drahric invites the Jedi, Durango, and Ori for a celebratory feast at Aklyrr Inn. Ori hopes to introduce his new friends to their town's Mossbery Biscuits.
