The High Republic Adventures – Dispatches from the Occlusion Zone 1 is the first issue of the 2024 canon comic book miniseries Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures – Dispatches from the Occlusion Zone. The issue was written by Daniel José Older, illustrated by Paris Alleyne and Michael Atiyeh, and published by Dark Horse Comics on October 9, 2024.

Publisher's summary[]

The marauders known as the Nihil have stranded hundreds of worlds in a part of the galaxy known as the Occlusion Zone. With communications blocked and ships unable to enter, Jedi Knights Keeve Trennis and Elzar Mann have turned to centuries-old technology to send messages of hope into the Zone. The messages they receive in return—from Jedi younglings, Padawans, and Knights, and more—will set the stage for the final battle between the noble Jedi and the nefarious Nihil.

TRIALS OF THE JEDI

Worlds suffer inside the formidable
OCCLUSION ZONE, where Marchion Ro
and his band of Nihil marauders,
untouchable by the Republic, rule with
an iron fist.

Jedi Master Avar Kriss has escaped from
this occupied space and, along with
fellow Jedi Elzar Mann, leads the Jedi
and Republic in a desperate fight against
the Nihil and their Nameless creatures.

But a new danger now threatens the
galaxy. A mysterious BLIGHT has begun
to spread randomly across worlds,
slowly infecting areas and turning all life
in its path to dust….

↑ Star Wars: Timelines dates Starlight Beacon's destruction to 230 BBY. The implementation of the Guardian Protocols, which Star Wars: The High Republic Character Encyclopedia places in 229 BBY, took place one week after Starlight Beacon's fall according to The High Republic – Shadows of Starlight 1. As The High Republic Adventures (2023) 4 takes place one year and two weeks after the destruction of Starlight Beacon, it must be set in 228 BBY. Since the events of The High Republic Adventures (2023) 6 are set immediately following the fourth issue and depict the expansion of the Stormwall, the expansion must have taken place in the same year.
