The Horse's Mouth, originally titled Straight from the Horse's Mouth, was a regular department in the Star Wars Insider that was written by Bob Cooper and Peet Janes. The column discussed the latest Star Wars comic books from Dark Horse Comics, covering series such as Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi and Star Wars: Republic.

The articles actually began appearing in the twenty-first issue of The Lucasfilm Fan Club Magazine, just two issues before its title change to Star Wars Insider. It began alternating with the Bookshelf department, written by Jason Fry, in Star Wars Insider 44.
