"The Jumping Jetpack" is the second part of the eleventh episode of the second season the animated series Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures. It was released on Disney+ on August 14, 2024.[1]

Plot summary[]
The rogue jetpack[]
Kai Brightstar agrees to help retrieve an actuator from Marlaa's junkyard for Nash Durango since she is busy. Durango switches off her holoprojector and returns to work on the Crimson Firehawk. Marlaa Jinara runs towards Brightstar and pushes him down just as an out of control jetpack rockets past them. Jinara's droids JG-1 and PT-3 also take cover. Jinara explains that she was trying prepare the jetpack for the famous explorer and pirate Maz Kanata. Kanata says that her plan to catch the rogue jetpack didn't work out and asks if the others have any ideas.
Jinara reminds Kanata about how they caught giant buzzer bees on Borlax 14. Kanata points out that they don't have Cardogian honey, which she adds won't work on a rogue jetpack. When Brightstar asks how the two know each other, Jinara explains that the two used to go on adventures together when they were younger. Brightstar is surprised to learn that Jinara traveled offworld when she was younger. Brightstar offers to use the Force to help them. Jinara tells Kanata that Brightstar is a Jedi youngling and a good friend.
He uses the Force in attempt to stop the jetpack but loses control. The jetpack boomerangs through the junkyard and flies into Kublop Springs. Jinara expresses relieve the jetpack is gone but Kanata reminds Jinara that she made the jepack for Kanata. Kanata says they should go on a quest to find the jetpack. Brightstar offers to help with the quest. Kanata suggests that all three of them go together, adding that Brightstar could learn a lot from Jinara. Kanata says that even people whom he knows well can have a lot of surprises. Before leaving, Jinara assigns JG-1 and PT-3 with looking after the junkyard in her absence.
The forest hike[]
The three enter the Tenoo tree forest, running past a snake and three rodents. Brightstar struggles to keep up with Jinara and Kanata, who can run fast. Along the way, Jinara tells Brightstar that she once visited Naboo. As they navigate over some rocks, Nubs struggles to keep up with the two women. After emerging from a bush, Brightstar grumbles about getting leaves, branches and goo stuck to him.
The three reach a rickety rope bridge. Jinara and Kanata are wary of the bridge but Brightstar volunteers to cross it. After reaching the middle, the bridge starts to fall apart. Brightstar manages to reach the end of the bridge before it collapses. Kanata pulls him in. As they approach a giant Tenoo tree, Kanata leads the way in swinging across the giant three. Jinara follows suit. Brightstar struggles with the lasso but manages to reach the other side with the help of Kanata.
Stuck[]
Kanata leads the way in jumping over a bush. However, Kanata soon finds herself stuck in a pool of sap. Kanata tells Jinara and Brightstar that she has found the jetpack. Assessing the situation, Brightstar attempts to use the Force to pull Kanata out of the pool despite Jinara's warning. However, the exertion causes Kanata to get even more stuck and she begins sinking into the pool of sap. Brightstar apologizes and says he doesn't know what to do.
Jinara comes up with a new plan that involves Brightstar using the Force to lower the jetpack. Using the Force, Brightstar moves the jetpack off the branch and levitate it towards Jinara. Jinara fixes the jetpack and attaches it to her back. Jinara struggles to control the jetpack but manages to gain control. She flies towards Kanata and pulls her out of the sap pool. Brightstar cheers as Jinara lands with Kanata on the banks of the sap pool. Brightstar is pleased and surprise to learn more about Kanata. The three then race back to Marlaa's junkyard with Jinara flying her jetpack.
Aftermath[]
Back at the junkyard, JG-1 and PT-3 work together to tidy up the mess caused by the rogue jetpack. Jinara is the first to land followed by Brightstar and Kanata. Brightstar says he is pleased to learn that people are full of surprises. Kanata and Jinara embrace before Kanata departs with her repaired jetpack to her castle. After Kanata leaves, Brightstar asks if he could have an actuator and gets Jinara to tell him another story. Jinara recounts an adventure on Thyferra.
