"I think the first line in my original pitch for the book was 'Ewoks in snow,' Anyone who talks to me about Star Wars knows my love of the furry little warriors and this seemed too good an opportunity to miss. Both George and I are huge fans of winter folklore and through stories like this we wanted to explore the customs and beliefs that had developed on a number of worlds in the galaxy, including, of course, the forest moon of Endor."
―Cavan Scott[src]

"The Kroolok" is a short story that was published in the Life Day Treasury short story collection. The story was authored by Cavan Scott and George Mann, illustrated by Grant Griffin, and published on September 7, 2021. The tale revolves around Ewoks on the forest moon of Endor during the winter.

  2. "The Kroolok" establishes that Wicket was not old enough to leave Bright Tree Village. Because Wicket leaves the village during Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates to 4 ABY, "The Kroolok" must take place by that year.
