Plot summary[]

STORMS OF CRAIT
It is a period of urgency within the Rebel Alliance.

Ever since the destruction of the evil Galactic Empire's
Death Star and the Battle of Yavin, the rebels have been
on the run, in search of a new location to hold their base
of operations. Rebellion hero Princess Leia of Alderaan
has made the search her personal mission with the help of
her friends Luke Skywalker and smuggler Han Solo.

However, finding a new secret location to hide from the
Imperial army is much harder when they're hot on the tail
of the Millennium Falcon....

Alliance on the Run[]

Part of the Alliance Fleet is being chased by the Galactic Empire. During an impromptu skirmish with several TIEs, Han Solo and Luke Skywalker argue over Han's plan, and how it had gotten them into this situation. Han remarks that it wasn't even much of a plan, as Leia and Mon Mothma try to find new coordinates for the small fleet to jump to. Han, Luke and several other X-wings defend two EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigates as Mothma and Organa decide to jump to 'Rendezvouz Point C', or Baraan-Fa.

On Baraan-Fa, several Alliance vessels are landing and setting up camp, as Mothma and Organa brainstorm a new location for a Rebel base. Leia suggests Sabanash and the Moon of Ooloponi before asking to take a squadron to Crait. Mothma says that the planet is dead, which Leia surmises is strategically beneficial. Leia explains that she has a contact named Trusk Berinato thanks to her father, who claims there is an abandoned mine on Crait that's ideal for the Rebellion. Luke is chosen by Leia to command the mission.

On Crait[]

Arriving with a GR-75 medium transport and the Millennium Falcon, the Alliance unloads weapons onto the salty plain and is greeted by Berinato, who's accompanied by a small legion of droids. Han expresses his distrust for Berinato as he warmly greets Leia, telling her how sorry he is about her father's passing. Luke, Leia, and Han then tour the area in V-4X-D ski speeders, while Berinato narrates. After receiving new orders from the princess, Luke states that he finds this mission particularly irritating, as it reminds him of his life as a farm boy.

Ski Speeder Tour

Trusk Berinato takes our heroes on a tour of the salt flats

Han, Leia and Chewbacca then followed Trusk into the mineral mines, as he recalls working in the mines. Privately, Han once again conveys his distrust for the Q'Itane to Leia. Meanwhile, Luke and Wedge Antilles work on creating trenches in the salt flats. Suddenly, a green worm emerges from the ground. Wedge prepares to fire his blaster, but Luke relates the worm to sand worms he encountered on Tatooine as a child. Han and Chewbacca are dealing with the worms as well. This prompts Luke to run an environmental assessment of the land, and determine that there are water deposits under the surface, in which the worms live. Suddenly, Luke decides to go out on ski speeder with Wedge, and finds several flash-dried bodies piled up on the salt flats. Luke and Wedge rush back to base to warn the others of what caused this.

As Han and Chewbacca unload equipment into the mines, Trusk presents a bottle of Alderaanian wine to Leia from the year she was born. A foolhardy attempt to coax a deal from her, she doesn't succumb. Leia reveals that she knows Berinato has a squad of stormtroopers waiting for his signal, and that she wants to make a deal of her own. Just then, Luke returns and Leia gives him a kiss on the cheek while expressing how she doesn't want him to change. Luke tells her that they need to leave as soon as possible, but for a different reason. Luke realized that there are salt storms on Crait that are deadly once he'd found the dried bodies with Wedge. Upon being accused, Trusk informs the rebels that Task Force 99, or SCAR Squadron, was already on their way.

SCAR Squadron[]

Luke vs Kreel

Luke and Kreel duel during the Mission to Crait

While above the planet, the stormtroopers of Task Force 99 drop from their shuttle onto the salt-flats riding 74-Z speeder bikes. They immediately catch up to the rebel leaders, who are fleeing in ski speeders as the salt storm begins. Chewbacca blasts Mic out of the sky, as the troopers continue to close in. Luke turns around to face the group head on, as his speeder is blown up by Zuke. Luke manages to pull himself out of the wreckage of his speeder, while Kreel arrives to challenge him to a duel. Luke and Kreel clash sabers under the falling salt as Wedge and several other rebels show up in speeders to counter SCAR Squadron.

Han, Leia, and Chewbacca make it back to the Falcon, but are stopped by Trusk. Meanwhile, Kreel insults Luke as their duel intensifies. Luke begins to fight back, but suddenly, the same worms from before crack through the surface and grab Kreel's legs. Nearby, the rebel soldiers have finally beaten down SCAR Squadron. In a moment of vengeful force, Wedge slams a piece of metal through Zuke's armor, feeling every bit of what he struck a payment for the Empire's evil. At the Falcon, Trusk holds Leia up with his blaster, and blasts Han in the shoulder as he attempts to pull his DL-44 out. Leia runs to Han, and quickly spins around, shooting Trusk in the hand. Just then, the rest of the rebels arrive to inform Leia and Han that they must leave before the storm kills them all.

Aftermath[]

Onboard the Millennium Falcon, Leia tells Mon Mothma that the scouting mission was a failure. Mothma reassures Leia, and tells her that her sense for people is one of her best qualities. Han is patched up, recovering from his blaster wound, as Luke looks into the stars from the cockpit. He tells Leia that he is a "small life", "trying to make a big difference". Leia tells him never to change.
