The story follows Chewbacca on a job to recover a dark side artifact from Ushruu in exchange for Han Solo's life. Chewbacca is joined by an undercover K-2SO and the young bounty hunter/librarian Mayvlin Trillick, a new character. The book was published by Disney–Lucasfilm Press on May 25, 2018, in concert with the film Solo: A Star Wars Story.
