The Quintarad was a star system located within Wild Space, in the otherwise starless region known as the Void of Aogros. The system consisted of five stars orbiting each other and was considered an oddity.
Astrophysicists were convinced that the Quintarad was artificial by nature, and it was widely believed to have been constructed by members of the sentient Celestial species, who had disappeared from the galaxy by 30,000 BBY. Several probes were sent into the quinary system, but none of them survived the journey.
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
The Quintarad was originally meant to be mentioned in the 2012 reference book The Essential Guide to Warfare by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart; however, the sidebar that would have mentioned the star system was cut before the book's release.
The information regarding the Quintarad was later released in 2013 as part of Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Warfare Author's Cut, a series of articles published on the StarWars.com Blog by Fry and Erich Schoeneweiss containing various cut content from The Essential Guide to Warfare. The Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Quintarad in grid square H-18.
