The Ring was an astronomical object found within the Anoat sector of the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories. It was situated inside the Ivax Nebula and was positioned relatively close to the planets Gerrenthum and Nothoiin.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

In the new Star Wars canon, the Ring was first shown on a map in the eighteenth issue of the Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon magazine series,[3] which was published around May 6, 2015.[4] It then appeared in Star Wars: Uprising,[1] a canon mobile-game developed by Kabam and released on September 10, 2015.[5] Although it did not appear in the game's story missions or dialogue, the Ring was pictured on a map of the Anoat sector, in which Star Wars: Uprising took place.[1]

The Ring was initially created for Star Wars Legends, being first mentioned in Galactic Gazetteer: Hoth and the Greater Javin, a 2004 supplement for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game.[6] In 2009, The Essential Atlas subsequently established that the Ring was a black dwarf,[7] although the Ring's nature was not specified within Build the Millennium Falcon[3] or Star Wars: Uprising.[1]
