"The Vaynai Archipelago" is a Star Wars Roleplaying Game source article published in Star Wars Gamer 8. It was written by Peter M. Schweighofer and illustrated by Ramón Pérez.
Continuity[]
The article does not mention any subjects that did not exist in-universe outside of the three eras of play available in the first edition of the Star Wars Roleplaying Game[2] as defined by that edition's core rulebook—the time surrounding the events of Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace, the Rebellion era, and the New Jedi Order era[3]—therefore allowing game-master players to use the settings and adventure hooks described in the article in any of the mentioned time periods.[2]
The same lack of any chronological restrictions upon gameplay is also explicitly noted in the article's companion adventure, "Topside Infiltration," which was also published in Star Wars Gamer 8.[4] The 2008 reference book The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia did, however, establish that the tourism industry of the islands on Vaynai,[5] as described in the article,[2] already catered to rich and famous individuals during the reign of the Galactic Empire[5] and that both Preena Jallop[6] and Whuvumm owned and operated their respective businesses around the same time.[7]
