Thraisai was a planet[2] located in the Thraisai system of Wild Space.[1] At some point between 17 BBY and 0 ABY,[3] the Human bounty hunter Beilert Valance led a group of mercenaries in capturing a ring of slavers on Thraisai, a mission that helped Valance attain the status of an elite hunter.[4]
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
Thraisai was first mentioned in "The Hunt Within: Valance's Tale: Part 1," a Wizards.com roleplaying article containing "Mission 1: Raid on Picutorion," a scenario for use with the Wizards of the Coast Star Wars Miniatures game. The article was authored by Jason Fry and published on December 2, 2004.[4] The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Thraisai system, and therefore the planet Thraisai, within grid square U-9.[5]

"The Hunt Within: Valance's Tale: Part 2" on Wizards.com (original article link, backup link) establishes that Beilert Valance became a bounty hunter at some point between the assault on Doniphon and the attack on Anglebay Station. The scenario also dates the latter conflict to a few weeks after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, which corresponds to 0 ABY, according to The New Essential Chronology. Since
Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Warfare Author's Cut, Part 11: Serving the Empire on StarWars.com (article) (backup link) dates the assault on Doniphon to 17 BBY, Valance must therefore have become a bounty hunter at some point between those two dates.
