"I had a vision of the Throne of the Sith, and who was on it."
"And me."
―Rey and Finn[src]

The Throne of the Sith, also called the Dark Throne, was the Sith throne of Exegol, located within the Sith Citadel's Sith loyalist chamber.[3] It was offered to Kylo Ren and Rey by the resurgent Darth Sidious in 35 ABY. After both offers were denied, the Galactic Emperor and Dark Lord of the Sith took the throne for the Sith Eternal and intended for it to serve as the seat of power for the new Sith Empire. The throne was destroyed by Rey along with Darth Sidious during the Battle of Exegol.[2]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

The Throne of the Sith first appeared in the 2019 film Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker, the third installment of the Star Wars sequel trilogy.[2] The Dark Throne bears similarity to the Emperor's Throne Room thumbnail sketches shown in Star Wars Art: Ralph McQuarrie. Made in 1981 by Star Wars concept artist Ralph McQuarrie, they were intended for use in the 1983 film Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.[4]
