- "I had a vision of the Throne of the Sith, and who was on it."
"Ren?"
"And me." - ―Rey Skywalker and Finn
The Throne of the Sith, also called the Dark Throne, was the Sith throne of Exegol, located within the Sith Citadel's Sith loyalist chamber.[3] Darth Sidious, the Galactic Emperor and reigning Dark Lord of the Sith, prepared the throne as his permanent seat of power for an eternal Sith Empire.[4] The throne was destroyed by Rey along with Darth Sidious during the Battle of Exegol.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
The Throne of the Sith first appeared in the 2019 film Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker, the third installment of the Star Wars sequel trilogy.[2] The Dark Throne bears similarity to the Emperor's Throne Room thumbnail sketches shown in Star Wars Art: Ralph McQuarrie. Made in 1981 by Star Wars concept artist Ralph McQuarrie, they were intended for use in the 1983 film Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.[5]
