Thull's Shroud was a location situated near[1] the Mid Rim astronomical object[2] Belsavis. During the High Republic Era, the small and disorganized Nihil marauder group operated near Thull's Shroud. The Evereni Asgar Ro offered the Nihil the use of the unconventional hyperspace routes known as the Paths, becoming Eye of the Nihil[1] in 252 BBY[3] and growing the organization's strength and influence significantly under his leadership[1] until being killed in 242 BBY.[3] In 232 BBY,[4] Asgar's son Marchion Ro—who had succeeded his father as Eye of the Nihil—thought about the Nihil's past as a small group working near Thull's Shroud.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

In the current Star Wars canon, Thull's Shroud was mentioned in Light of the Jedi, a 2021 novel written by Charles Soule as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase I.[5] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the nebula Thull's Shroud was originally introduced in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Jason Fry and Daniel Wallace. In the book, the nebula was illustrated by Modi.[6]
