Behind the scenes
In answering a fan question about if Toht Ra's name derivates from the Indiana Jones franchise, Phil Szostak noted that the character was named after Arnold Toht, the Gestapo agent from Raiders of the Lost Ark (written by Lawrence Kasdan) who burns his hand on the headpiece to the Staff of Ra, though he suspects that Lucasfilm Story Group's Pablo Hidalgo was most likely the one who came up with the name.[3]
