For other uses, see Tong (disambiguation).

Tong was a supposed[2] human[1] TIE fighter pilot in the Galactic Empire's 204th Imperial Fighter Wing. When Lieutenant Yrica Quell defected from the Empire on the planet Nacronis[2] around 4 ABY,[3] she attempted to cover up her role in a genocide on the planet, claiming in a falsified report to the New Republic IT-O Interrogation Unit IT-O that Tong, along with fellow TIE pilots Major Soran Keize and Shana, had pursued her. Quell additionally claimed that having seen Tong's flight statistics, she felt that she was even-matched. In the false story, Quell caused Tong and Shana to be caught in Nacronis's siltstorms and crash into each other as they decelerated.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

Tong was mentioned in the 2019 novel Alphabet Squadron, the first volume of the Star Wars: Alphabet Squadron trilogy written by Alexander Freed.[2]

Notes and references[]

  1. 1.0 1.1 Ultimate Star Wars states that the Galactic Empire's TIE fighter pilots were all humans.
  2. 2.0 2.1 2.2 2.3 2.4 2.5 Alphabet Squadron
  3. In Alphabet Squadron, Yrica Quell defected from the Galactic Empire during the destruction of Nacronis, which took place two weeks after the Battle of Endor, which is in turn dated to 4 ABY by Star Wars: Galactic Atlas. Quell must have therefore defected around that year.
