Anthony P. Russo wrote the short story Blaze of Glory for the Tales from the Empire anthology. Russo wrote fan fiction Star Wars stories in high school "long before it was considered cool." Russo's first published short story appeared in Aboriginal Science Fiction magazine. He devoted development to the Star Wars Live Action Roleplaying System and was reportedly finishing his first full-length novel by the time Tales from the Empire was published in 1997.
