The Toydarian ceremonial sword was an object used in treaties and ceremonies by Toydarians. King Katuunko once presented Jedi Master Yoda with his sword. This action represented the king entrusting the safety and defense of his people to Yoda and the Republic.
Later into the Clone Wars, Count Dooku sent his new assassin, Savage Opress, to kidnap Katuunko to exact his revenge on the king for aiding the Republic. The king used the ceremonial sword to defend himself, but Opress sliced it in two with his lightsaber. The king still tried to flee after his weapon was useless, and despite the arrival of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker to defend him, Katuunko was killed.
The sword was stored in a scabbard on Katuunko's belt.
