A trading village was a collection of habitations in the swamps of Naboo near the capital city of Theed. It was attacked by the Trade Federation Droid Army during the Invasion of Naboo, but two Royal Naboo Security Forces officers thwarted the assault.

History

Around the time of the Invasion of Naboo in the year 32 BBY,[2] a trading village rested in the Naboo swamps. Shortly after the invasion commenced, the Trade Federation Droid Army entered the swamps and demanded the village's surrender. The villagers refused, and the droid forces opened fire. Following their leader, Rohan Wayside, the villagers took their houseboats and fled deeper into the swamps. At the time, the Security Force officers Captain Kael and Lieutenant Gavyn Sykes were searching for the village to recruit pilots. The officers engaged the Federation gunboats and rescued the villagers. In gratitude, Wayside sent his best pilot, Vedd Deviss, to lead the officers on a mission to find a smuggler who could help fight the Federation army.[1]

Behind the scenes

The village appears in a mission from the 2000 video game Star Wars: Episode I: Battle for Naboo. It is also featured in the third bonus mission, a non-canon scenario wherein the player takes the role of the Sith Lord Darth Maul in his personal starship, the Scimitar, to lead a Trade Federation attack force and destroy every Naboo civilian and military target—people, land vehicles, and starfighters—in the level.[1]
