- "I doubt it, unless you can alter time and speed up the harvest. Or else teleport me off this sandpile under Uncle Owen's nose."
"I don't think so, sir. I'm only a third-degree 'droid and not very knowledgeable about such things as transatomic physics." - ―Luke Skywalker and C-3PO
Transatomic physics was a field of knowledge involving time travel and teleportation.[1] In 0 BBY,[2] when the protocol droid C-3PO asked if he could help the Human farmboy Luke Skywalker, Skywalker expressed skepticism and stated the only way C-3PO could help was to alter time or teleport him away from the planet Tatooine without the knowledge of his uncle Owen Lars. C-3PO responded by saying that, as he was only a class three droid, he did not know much about subjects like transatomic physics.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Transatomic physics was mentioned in the 1976 novelization of the film Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope,[1] released in 1977.[3]
