Treads, also known as Motorized Treads, were a locomotion system used by R-series astromech droids. R-series droids had two standard treads on the bottom of their main legs, with a third tread that could be retracted into the unit's body.[1] The treads allowed the astromechs to travel over a vareity of terrain, and they were driven by an Everett Mark IV Locomotion System.[2]
