- "Internal systems are fully operational. How are things outside?"
"Oh, yeah, 's all great out here. I'm swingin' round the back to have a looksee." - ―ED-4 and Treadwell
Treadwell[3] was a WED-15 Treadwell droid who served the Alliance to Restore the Republic. Shortly before the Battle of Hoth[2] in 3 ABY,[4] Treadwell was present in the Rebel Alliance's Echo Base on the planet Hoth, where the repair droid assisted rebels Han Solo and Chewbacca in repairing their starship, the Millennium Falcon.[2]
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
Treadwell first appeared in the 1980 original trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back.[2] The droid was named in the canon short story "Faith in an Old Friend," written by Brittany N. Williams and published in the 2020 short story collection From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back.[3]
In the Star Wars Legends continuity, a card in Hoth Limited, a 1996 set for the Star Wars Customizable Card Game, identified the repair droid's model as the WED-1016 'Techie' Droid.[5]

Notes and references[edit | edit source]
- ↑ "Faith in an Old Friend" is set during the events of Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates to 3 ABY. As such, "Faith in an Old Friend," including Treadwell's destruction on Bespin, must be set during that year.
