This article is about the individual droid. You may be looking for the general WED Treadwell repair droid series or WED-15-77, who was nicknamed "Treadwell".

"Internal systems are fully operational. How are things outside?"
"Oh, yeah, it's all great out here. I'm swingin' round the back to have a looksee."
ED-4 and Treadwell[src]

Treadwell[4] was a WED 15 "Septoid 2" Treadwell droid[3] who served the Millennium Falcon. Treadwell was acquired by Han Solo three years before the Battle of Hoth.[4] Prior to that he'd been with some Jawas,[4] and before that he'd worked repairs on a Republic cruiser during the Clone Wars.[4]

Shortly before the Battle of Hoth,[2] in 3 ABY,[5] Treadwell assisted Han and Chewbacca in repairing the Millennium Falcon,[2] while it was in the main hanger of the Rebel Alliance's Echo Base on the planet Hoth.[2]

Treadwell was terminated by Stormtroopers on Cloud City, in an attempt to prevent him from warning anyone that the Falcon's hyperdrive had been disabled by the Empire.[4]

Behind the scenes[]

Treadwell first appeared in the 1980 original trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back.[2] The droid was named in the canon short story "Faith in an Old Friend," written by Brittany N. Williams and published in the 2020 short story collection From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back.[4]

In the Star Wars Legends continuity, a card in Hoth Limited, a 1996 set for the Star Wars Customizable Card Game, identified the repair droid's model as the WED-1016 'Techie' Droid.[6]
