The trees of Te Ani'la were a species of ornamental tree with green leaves and brown trunks.[2] During the Clone Wars, a number of these trees were planted atop the Royal Academy of Government on the planet Mandalore, where two rows lined either side of the path to the academy's entrance, with further trees placed regularly around the edge of the building.[1] The academy's trees were pruned to resemble the architecture of Sundari, Mandalore's capital city, where the academy was located. The trees were far older than their small size suggested.[2]
Behind the scenes[]
The trees of Te Ani'la first appeared in "The Academy," the sixth episode in Season Three of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series.[1] In the new Star Wars canon, they were first identified in the 2017 reference book Star Wars: The Visual Encyclopedia.[2] The name "Te Ani'la" was first coined for the character Mandalore the Ultimate from the Star Wars Legends continuity by the Wookieepedia user Doran.[3]
