The Treppus-2 vibroknife was a popular type of vibro-knife produced by Merr-Sonn Munitions, Inc..[1] A good example of a standard vibroblade,[2] the Treppus-2 served as the basis for Merr-Sonn's M8 Combat Knife, which was used by the Galactic Republic's clone troopers during the Clone Wars.[1]

The blade of the Treppus-2 was around fifteen centimeters. Often activated by a button located on the weapon's hilt, it could be programmed to activate right after being removed from its holster. Furthermore, the energy cell of the Treppus-2 was located within the hilt and provided ten hours worth of autonomy with a single charge. Optionally, a charging unit could also be installed in the knife's holster to make it operational at all times.[2]

Behind the scenes[]

The Treppus-2 vibroknife was first mentioned in the new Star Wars canon in Rise of the Separatists, a 2019 supplement to Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars Roleplaying products.[1] It was originally introduced in the Star Wars Legends continuity as the Treppus-2 vibroblade in The Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology, authored by Bill Smith and published in 1997,[3] and later made a full appearance in a flashback in Rebel Force: Renegade, a 2009 novel authored by Alex Wheeler.[4]
