Stormtroopers served as soldiers of the Galactic Empire.

Troopers,[2] sometimes referred to as troops or grunts,[3] were soldiers who served in a military force.

Examples of troopers throughout galactic history included the Galactic Republic troopers of the Republic Defense Coalition who got their first taste of real combat during the Nihil conflict,[4] the clone troopers of the Grand Army of the Republic, who were bred on the planet Kamino using the genetic template of the Mandalorian bounty hunter Jango Fett,[5] the stormtroopers of the Galactic Empire, who were elite troops[6] deployed on the frontlines[7] and stationed aboard installations such as Star Destroyers,[8] the Alliance troopers of the Rebel Alliance,[9] the stormtroopers of the First Order,[10] and the Resistance troopers[11] of General Leia Organa's Resistance.[10]
