This article is about the species. You may be looking for the light cruiser.

Tumnors were a species of large flying predators that lived on the fifth moon of the planet Da Soocha, which was located in the Cyax system of Hutt Space.[1] With a five meter wing span the creatures could fly and were able to attack prey with both their teeth and claws. Tumnor hunted the sentient Ixll species also native to their homeworld and were especially fond of devouring their young. Due to their role as the species natural hunters the Tumnor featured prominently in Ixll legend and always took on an evil and merciless role. Whilst the New Republic maintained a presence on the moon during the Operation Shadow Hand part of the Galactic Civil War in 10 ABY, Republic scientists stationed their never actually sighted a Tumnor. Dar Soocha V was destroyed in 10 ABY by the Galaxy Gun, a world–devastating Imperial super weapon.

Behind the scenes[]

The Tumnor were first mentioned in 1993 in the Dark Empire Sourcebook a supplement written by Michael Allen Horne for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game, a roleplaying game produced by West End Games. They also received mention in the reference books, The Essential Guide to Planets and Moons written by Daniel Wallace in 1998 and the third edition of A Guide to the Star Wars Universe written in 2000 by Bill Slavicsek. No source has made clear if the Tumnor were sentient or if any survived the destruction of their homeworld.
