Twin Suns Squadron was an elite starfighter squadron that was formed during the New Republic's occupation of Borleias at the height of the Yuuzhan Vong War. Created by Luke Skywalker and named after his homeworld of Tatooine, command was given over to Jaina Solo, who led the squadron to successful campaigns at Borleias, Galantos, and Bakura. It primarily consisted of T-65XJ X-wing starfighters, and second-in-command Jagged Fel's Chiss clawcraft.
After the Yuuzhan Vong War, Twin Suns Squadron was decommissioned, but Luke Skywalker often gave the designation to ad hoc squadrons assembled for various single missions. The prestigious name was later given to a Jedi squadron of X-83 TwinTail starfighters during the Second Imperial Civil War. By 138 ABY its leader was Jedi Master Tobias Sun.
