During the Cold War, the Sith Lord Tytonus instigated a revolution against the Sith Emperor and the Dark Council. After declaring her own kingdom on Begeren, Tytonus was exiled from the Sith Empire, but maintained power through an extensive mercenary army. The Sith queen's revolution came to an end around 3643 BBY when she entered into an alliance with another rebelling Sith Lord—Grathan. Tytonus sought to aid Grathan on Dromund Kaas by landing her army on the planet and marching on the Imperial capital of Kaas City. During the attempt, Lord Tytonus was killed by an Imperial strike team.^[2]

Since the mission and the incident are respectively part of Act I of the Jedi Knight and Republic Trooper's storylines, and the Trooper's Act I occurs concurrent to Act I of the Smuggler storyline, the general events of the Prologue and Act I for all classes can be assumed to occur in 3643 BBY.
