The Ubiqtorate was one of several organizations established by the Galactic Empire following the transition from the Galactic Republic. When the four heads of the intelligence agencies combined their forces to prevent corruption from senators, they unified into the Ubiqtorate, which acted both as the agency in command of Imperial Intelligence,[3] providing analysis and intel to the Imperial Army and Navy. Ubiqtorate agents were known to be working closely and cooperatively with the military and were thus better received by their peers than their COMPNOR or ISB counterparts.[2] The Ubiqtorate headquarters were located in the COMPNOR arcology on Coruscant, which also housed COMPNOR.[1]
Five years after the conclusion of the Clone Wars in 14 BBY, Harus Ison, then Deputy Director of the Imperial Security Bureau was promoted and moved into the Ubiqtorate.[1] Later, in 5 BBY[4] during the preparations to lay a trap on Anto Kreegyr's group, ISB Major Lio Partagaz requested a meeting with the Ubiqtorate to discuss Spellhaus, the location of the group's imminent attack.[5] A few years later, in around 3 ABY, the Ubiqtorate conceived and implemented Project Swarm, the mass deployment of Viper probe droids in the Outer Rim Territories;[2] although initially unsuccessful,[6] the project eventually succeeded in locating the Rebel base on Hoth, earning its architect, Major Roj Ohjon a promotion to Colonel and a favorable reassignment to Coruscant.[2]
