Umé was a human female who served as one of the handmaidens of the Royal House of the planet Naboo.[1] In 19 BBY,[2] Umé attended the funeral of Naboo's senator, Padmé Amidala, shortly after the end of the Clone Wars. The handmaiden took part in Amidala's funeral procession through[3] the city of Theed,[1] walking alongside Queen Apailana of Naboo and another handmaiden. During the event,[3] Umé wore a patterned and hooded red cloak. She had light skin and blue eyes.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Umé appeared in the 2005 prequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith.[4] The funeral scene was filmed at Fox Studios, Sydney on September 16, 2003.[5] In the current Star Wars canon, the character was identified in the 2017 reference book Star Wars: The Visual Encyclopedia.[1] The name originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was created by Leland Chee for the Rogues Gallery department of Star Wars Insider 142,[6] a magazine published on June 10, 2013.[7]
