Although this article is based on official information from the Star Wars Legends continuity, the actual name of this subject is pure conjecture.

"The Jedi Council grew concerned, observing that Exar Kun's thirst for knowledge was starting to resemble a thirst for power. But he was already beyond their reach."
―A historical record by Master Gnost-Dural[1]

A blue-skinned, black-eyed Chagrian served as a member of the Jedi Order's High Council[1] around 3997 BBY.[2] The Chagrian, along with their Human colleagues, grew concerned with the Jedi Padawan Exar Kun and the eagerness of the latter to study the dark side of the Force, which was shunned by the Order. The Jedi Council claimed that Kun's desire for knowledge was beginning to resemble a thirst for power, and the young Jedi indeed fell to the dark side[1] around 3997 BBY.[2]

In a historical record composed by Jedi Master Gnost-Dural[1] following the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant[3] more than three centuries later,[4] the Chagrian member of the High Council and their colleagues were depicted against the backdrop of a high-ceilinged hall. In the record, the Chagrian was wearing dark red and dark brown robes.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The Chagrian Jedi appeared in The Exar Kun War, the tenth installment of the Galactic Timeline series of videos published on the official website for Star Wars: The Old Republic,[1] a 2011 massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by BioWare.[5]

In The Exar Kun War,[1] which was released on October 15, 2010,[6] the depiction of the Chagrian is identical in appearance, clothing, and pose[1] to a promotional photograph[7] for the 1999 prequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace,[8] of Jerome Blake[9] portraying Mas Amedda, Vice Chair of the Galactic Republic's Senate.[7]
