- "This ring came into my family's possession many, many generations ago. One of my relatives acquired it from an infamous space pirate."
- ―Ronen Tagge, to Chelli Lona Aphra and her crew
A member of the House of Tagge lived—according to their relative, the human Ronen Tagge—many, many generations before[1] 3 ABY.[2] At one point, the individual acquired the Ring of Immortality—one of the set of artifacts known as the Rings of Vaale—which according to legend, promised its wearer eternal life if worn alongside the other Ring of Vaale—the Ring of Fortune—which itself promised incredible fortune and limitless power—from an infamous space pirate.[1]
By 3 ABY,[2] the ring had come into the possession of Tagge.[1] That year,[2] he told the history of the Ring of Immortality—including how his relative had acquired it from the pirate—to the crew of the rogue archaeologist Doctor Chelli Lona Aphra.[1]
