- "Captain Solo is being transported to the detention level for removal from the carbonite and interrogation. This datapad contains the fastest route through the ship. A diversion is currently in the works—if you're careful, you'll make it."
"I don't understand…you're an Imperial officer. Why are you helping us?"
"Await the Dawn." - ―The Imperial officer and Leia Organa
A human served as an Imperial officer in the Galactic Empire during the Imperial Era, eventually coming to serve aboard aboard the Executor, the flagship of the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Vader. During her service to the Empire, the officer became associated with the resurgent criminal syndicate Crimson Dawn and acted as an operative for its leader, Lady Qi'ra, within the Empire.
In 3 ABY, the officer was present aboard the Executor when it was present in the Jekara system so Vader could acquire possession of the carbonite-encased smuggler Han Solo. After Solo was secured by Vader, the Hutt Clan criminal syndicate attacked the vessel in an attempt to gain possession of the smuggler themselves. During the battle, the officer, acting on orders from Qi'ra, allowed the rebel YT-1300 light freighter Millennium Falcon to land inside the Executor so that its crew, including Princess Leia Organa, could retrieve Solo.
Biography[]
Imperial service and becoming acquainted with Crimson Dawn[]
- "To the Corellian YT-1300 light freighter designated Millennium Falcon. This is the Imperial Star Destroyer Executor. You have been granted access to board, at tertiary auxiliary hangar Fifteen-D. Stand by for coordinates and access codes.[…] If you are doubting that this offer is made in good faith, note that the true sender of this message once stood where you do now…watching with bated breath as the finest pilot in the galaxy made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs."
- ―The Imperial officer, to the rebels

The Imperial officer came to serve as an operative within the Empire for Qi'ra (pictured).
A human served as an officer of the Galactic Empire during the Imperial Era.[1] By 3 ABY,[3] she[2] came to serve aboard[1] the Executor-class Star Dreadnought[4] Executor, the flagship of[1] the Dark Lord of the Sith[5] Darth Vader. During her service, the officer became associated with Crimson Dawn,[1] a criminal syndicate that had been thought destroyed, but had been secretly rebuilding[6] for a grand reintroduction to the galaxy under the leadership of Lady Qi'ra.[7]
That year,[5] the syndicate stole the carbonite-encased body of the smuggler Han Solo from the bounty hunter Boba Fett[5] and auctioned him off to the highest bidder—the Hutt Clan[8]—on the Mid Rim[7] planet[9] Jekara.[7] However, Vader arrived and claimed possession of Solo for himself after the Hutt crime lord Jabba the Hutt ceded control,[8] and had the carbonite delivered back to his flagship. Though forces of the Hutt Clan led by Lord Bokku attempted to capture the shuttle delivering Solo, they were defeated,[1] prompting Bokku—under Qi'ra's orders—to inform his forces to attack the Executor.[2]
Await the Dawn[]
- "Or do you think it was a coincidence that an Imperial officer allowed you to board the Executor? She was mine too."
- ―Qi'ra, to Leia Organa

Under orders from Qi'ra, the Imperial officer attempted to help the rebels rescue Han Solo from the Executor.
While the battle ensued, the officer—herself acting on orders from Qi'ra—contacted the Rebel Alliance YT-1300 light freighter Millennium Falcon, informing its crew—Princess Leia Organa, Lando Calrissian, and Chewbacca—that they had been granted access to land at hangar Fifteen-D and provided them with access codes and coordinates. She then reassured them that the offer had been made in good faith, and that the true sender of the message, Qi'ra, wanted them to recover Solo. After the ship landed in the hangar, the officer told the rebels that the smuggler was being transported to the detention level to be removed from the carbonite and interrogated.[2]
The officer then provided the rebels with a datapad with the fastest route through the ship. Before they left, Organa asked the officer why she, an Imperial officer, would help them. In response, the officer simply stated "await the Dawn," a phrase used by members of Crimson Dawn to show their allegiance. Despite the help the officer had provided them, the rebels were ultimately unsuccessful in their attempts to rescue Solo, as he was reclaimed by Fett.[1] Not long after, Qi'ra met up with the princess and told Organa that she had tried to use her agents, including the Imperial officer, to rescue Solo.[2]
