During the Imperial Era, a fleet of the Imperial Navy acted as the defense force of a prestigious star system within the Inner Rim. Following the Dromedar hijacking, Moff Ghadi's aide, Culper, approached Ensign Eli Vanto offering him a position as an assistant military attaché for a governor in the Inner Rim. Culper promised that Vanto would be promoted to the military rank of lieutenant followed shortly by the rank of captain and eventually reach a command position within the system fleet's defense force.[1]
