At one point, an individual served as the Mandalore, the leader of[2] the Aka'liit faction of[1] the Mandalorian warrior culture.[2] Around 132 BBY,[1] the long-lived Gen'Dai bounty hunter Durge,[3] who was harboring a long-standing hatred of the Mandalorians,[2] was hired to kill the Mandalore[3]—on whom a bounty had been placed[4]—a task that he successfully accomplished.[3] However, the Mandalore's followers[2] subsequently struck back at the bounty hunter and, subduing and restraining him, tortured the Gen'Dai to the point of rendering him mentally unstable and necessitating for him to later spend nearly a century in hibernation in order to recuperate physically.[3]
Behind the scenes[]
The Mandalore was first mentioned in the StarWars.com Databank entry for Durge, which was published at some point by October 24, 2003.[3]
