"Cargo shuttle SW-0608, you're not listed on the arrival schedule."
"Acknowledged, Gate Control. We were rerouted from Eadu flight station."
―The gate officer and Bodhi Rook[1]

During the Battle of Scarif, a security officer wearing a captain's[2] rank insignia plaque with a row of four blue squares worked on the shield gate above Scarif as part of Gate Control. He informed Imperial cargo shuttle SW-0608 that they were not on the manifest. The pilot responded that they had been re-routed from the recently attacked Eadu Flight Station and transmitted the proper clearance codes, which this officer confirmed. Unknown to him, the cargo shuttle secretly held a commando team of Rebels led by Jyn Erso, who raided the facility planetside and ultimately beamed the Death Star plans to a Rebel fleet. The shield gate was destroyed during the battle between that fleet and the Imperial Navy and garrison.[1]

  2. Glyn Dillon (@glyn__dillon) on Instagram (post): "I sometimes get asked, on Twitter, about certain things to do with the details of Star Wars costumes, especially Imperial costumes. I try to answer as best I can but I can't always remember... 'ranking' is something that crops up every now and then ...so I've been meaning to post this on here for a while. My co-designer, David Crossman is a military expert, much like John Mollo was, so this is something he put together, after studying all the OT films and working out what he thought John Mollo was doing with the Imperial ranking. It was devised for Rogue One... and if there are any Imperials in Solo, we would've have used this system again... But obviously I can't say if we did 😜 I hope it's useful for all the cosplayers and costumers out there" (backup link)
