An individual once served as a Sith Emperor of the Sith Empire[1] during or after 4,000 BBY.[2] The Great Sith Wars Bas-Relief later owned by the Sith Lord Darth Sidious had once adorned the chambers of the Sith Emperor.[1]

The Sith Emperor was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in "Coruscant," an issue of Star Wars Encyclopedia line of reference magazines, published by De Agostini[1] on February 9, 2021.[3]
In the Star Wars Legends continuity, this Sith Emperor was identified by the names Tenebrae, Darth Vitiate, and Valkorion. He first appeared in The Old Republic, Blood of the Empire Act 1: Shades of the Sith, an issue in the 2010 Star Wars: The Old Republic series of comics that served as backstory for the 2011 massively multiplayer online role-playing game Star Wars: The Old Republic.[4]
