- "He has a story to tell…about your son."
- ―C-3PO translates for the Tusken
A Tusken Raider lived on Tatooine during the Republic Era. The Tusken was purchased from the Hutts by a group of enslavers, who intended to place a transmitter chip in him. However, the young enslaved boy Anakin Skywalker tampered with the group's speeder, causing it to drive away on its own; with the group distracted, Skywalker freed the Tusken, telling him to run. Some time later, after Skywalker had been freed by the Jedi Order and departed the planet, the Tusken visited the home of his mother, Shmi. Although Shmi was frightened, the Tusken presented a black melon as a gift. With the protocol droid C-3PO translating, the Tusken told Shmi the story about her son.[1]
