During the Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire, a Human male officer was stationed on Dromund Kaas as Commander Rilan's lieutenant, and led one of his Imperial commando teams on a mission to investigate the unusual beasts' behaviour on the planet's jungles. The mission failed and the officer, along with his team, were killed by the beasts.
