- «That, my son, is a blessed sign of the Golden One.»
- ―Wicket Warrick, to his son Pommet, following the freighter's sacrifice
A Resistance[5] heavy freighter was active in the galaxy during the time of the First Order-Resistance War.[1] Concurrently with the Battle of Exegol[4] in 35 ABY,[3] the freighter came into contact with a First Order Resurgent-class Star Destroyer above the Forest Moon of Endor. Utilizing a technique known as the Holdo maneuver, the crew of the freighter rammed into the Star Destroyer at lightspeed, sacrificing themselves to destroy the fearsome vessel.[1]
The incident was witnessed by Ewoks Wicket and Pommet Warrick from the moon below. Unaware of the identities of the crew of the freighter, Wicket believed that the Destroyer's destruction was a blessing from the Golden One.[6] Pommet concluded that the collision was the work of his father's old friends, Princess Leia Organa and C-3PO.[7]
Behind the scenes[]
The heavy freighter first appeared in the 2019 film Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker, though only in the form of wreckage far off in space.[4] It was later identified as a heavy freighter in the 2021 reference book Star Wars: Battles that Changed the Galaxy.[1]

- ↑ Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker depicts the freighter using the Holdo maneuver. Since this technique requires the vessel to jump to lightspeed, it must have a hyperdrive.
- ↑ 3.0 3.1 Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary states that the events of Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker occur thirty-five years after the Battle of Yavin. As Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates the Battle of Yavin to 0 BBY, the events of The Rise of Skywalker, which includes the freighter's destruction in the Endor system, must occur in 35 ABY.
