A platoon in the Thirty-eighth Infantry of the Republic Army served in the Great Galactic War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. Several of the platoon's members were from the desert planet Tatooine, which led the platoon to name their armored walker the Sandtusker after the reptilian scavenger of the same name that was native to Tatooine. The Sandtusker carried the platoon through some of the harshest battles of the Great Galactic War.[1]
