"...be transported from the Outer Rim to as far away as the Core Worlds. However there are several other regions within our galaxy. They are the Mid Rim...The Expansion Region, the Inner Rim, the Colonies, Core, and Deep Core. All right class, settle down. Back to the lesson shall we?"
―The protocol droid during Grogu's entrance to a classroom[2]

A protocol droid served as a teacher on the planet Nevarro following its liberation from the forces of the Imperial remnant led by Moff Gideon. As the protocol droid was teaching a class on astrography, the infant Grogu, who was under the protection of the Mandalorian Din Djarin, was left in the room by Magistrate Greef Karga to keep him safe while Djarin assisted Karga in destroying the remaining Imperial base on Nevarro. Grogu was later returned to Djarin upon the latter's arrival at the class.[2]

Biography[]

"The Capital of the Old Republic was within the Core on a planet called Coruscant. The capital of the New Republic...is currently on the planet Chandrila. So, back to the start."
―The protocol droids tells her students about the capitals of the Old and New Republics[2]

The droid teaches her students.

In 9 ABY,[7] the protocol droid served as a teacher on the planet Nevarro following its liberation from Imperial remnant forces led by Moff Gideon. When youngling Grogu was introduced to the class by Greef Karga, the droid was teaching[2] her[6] students about the history of the Galactic Republic and about the different regions of the galaxy. As the class focused on the newcomer, he ordered the class to remain silent and calm, and then continued by telling her students about the capitals of the old and New Republic.[2]

After Grogu was introduced to the class, Karga, Din Djarin—Grogu's tutor—and Carasynthia Dune carried out an attack on the last Imperial base. Grogu was later returned to Djarin upon the latter's return.[2]

Pirate encounter[]

"Stand aside, droid, don't you know who we are?"
―Vane, to the protocol droid[6]

Djarin and Grogu later arrived on Nevarro to greet the new High Magistrate Greef Karga and ask for help to rebuild IG-11 to help him on his journey to Mandalore. As the two talked, a droid alerted Karga and Djarin that the school was being attacked by pirates. The two rushed over to the school, only to find Vane, a pirate, harassing the droid, asking her to let him and his companions in. Karga and Djarin shot Vane's companions dead, and Vane fled the scene not long after.[6]
