"WICKET!"
―Kneesaa and Latara, after Wicket frightens the creature away[src]

An umbrella-like creature lived on the Forest Moon of Endor. In 3 ABY, the Ewoks Kneesaa and Latara used one for shade as they rested on a beach, but the creature was frightened away by Wicket W. Warrick, another Ewok, who splashed it with water.

Biology and appearance

The umbrella-like creature had two long purple legs, each of which sported a two-toed clawed foot. Its head, which held two white eyes with black pupils, was wide like an umbrella, and bore stripes that alternated blue and red.[1]

History

The creature lived on the Forest Moon of Endor,[1] a moon with a wide variety of terrains.[2] In 3 ABY,[3] the Ewoks Kneesaa and Latara used one of the creatures, which wore a yellow garment around its loins, for protection from the sun while they rested on the beach of a pond near the forest. However, when Wicket W. Warrick leaped into the pond and used a victoria to surf through the otherwise peaceful water, he splashed Latara, Kneesaa, and the creature. Frightened, the creature let out a shriek before it retreated into the forest as Latara and Kneesaa chided Warrick.[1]

Behind the scenes

The umbrella-like creature goes unnamed during its appearance in "The Season Scepter,"[1] the thirteenth episode of the second season of the Ewoks television series. "The Season Scepter," written by Bob Carrau and directed by Raymond Jafelice, first aired on November 1, 1986.[4]
