A trilogy of Star Wars novels by author Troy Denning was scheduled to be released at some point after his standalone novel Crucible, set around the same point in the timeline as the also-canceled Sword of the Jedi trilogy. Crucible had been intended to set up new story opportunities for the trilogy to continue.[1] Del Rey's line of Star Wars books was relaunched, however, following the purchase of Lucasfilm Ltd. by The Walt Disney Company.[2][3] At the time of its cancellation, Denning's trilogy did not yet have a name,[4] although it did have a story.[5]
