- "The head of the Imperial Inquisitors, Malorum, has found out an important secret. If he is able to reveal it to the Emperor it could destroy any hope we have of someday living in peace and true justice."
- ―Ferus Olin
The uprising in Theed was a battle that took place in 19 BBY between the Galactic Empire and the people of Theed, Naboo.
Prelude[]
The battle was intended to be used as a diversion so that Ferus Olin could find and kill Malorum, who had discovered the secret that Padmé Amidala gave birth before she died and her offspring was alive, unaware that there were twins.
The battle[]
- "Your information network has reported that the Empire is illegally stockpiling destructive weapons in the Theed hangar in defiance of Senate regulations. If we blow up the weapons cache it would seem like a disaster the Empire had brought on itself. The officials back on Coruscant would wish to hush up the explosion so that the Senate wouldn't hear about it. The Emperor may despise the Senate, but he still needs it to cloak his crimes."
- ―Ferus Olin, to Queen Apailana
The Royal Naboo Security Force and Gungan Army attacked the Imperial garrison in the city. Meanwhile, Olin found Malorum, who revealed that he possessed a lightsaber, and engaged Olin in a duel. The duel was fought in the Theed Power Core, where Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn had fought Darth Maul many years before.
Olin managed to overcome Malorum, who fell down a power core in a futile effort to reach his lightsaber which Olin had knocked from his hand. Afterward, the Theed Hangar, which was being used by the Empire to store illegal explosives, was destroyed by Olin to cover the destruction of the Imperial Garrison. Consequently, Naboo escaped serious punishment by the Empire, who did not wish to draw attention to the fact that they were breaking the law.
Aftermath[]
- "Surely you realize the retribution that would be inflicted afterward upon both the Naboo and the Gungans. The Emperor would crush us. It would be swift and terrible, and many civilians would perish."
- ―Queen Apailana, to Ferus Olin
However, the Empire soon grew fed up with Naboo's rebelliousness. When Darth Vader discovered Apailana was harboring fugitive Jedi, he led the 501st Legion in an attack.[6]
