Looking for input regarding video-wikis on Wookieepedia Edit

Hi, As you may have heard, in the next few days there will be a new collaborative video feature on Wookieepedia. The feature is based on technology created by Kaltura, where I work. We’re really excited to have our technology on Wookieepedia and are hoping that it can be a great tool for the Wookieepedia community. I am contacting you and a few other administrators hoping that you can tell me where you think collaborative videos might fit in within Wookieepedia. We have a few people that are great with rich-media, and that are active in the community and would like to get a few videos rolling as soon as the feature goes live. For example – what pages do you think could benefit from a collaborative video that any user can add, edit and remix? Are there 5-10 top pages/topics that you think could be cool to add videos to? Any specific ideas of the kind of videos the community would like? Maybe a tribute to a certain character, or possibly a video that talks about why people joined Wookieepedia, etc. Any input you could provide would be excellent, we’re hoping that the Wookieepedians get familiar with the collaborative video feature and enjoy it. Thank you! Lishkee 14:14, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Mailing listEdit

Hey, Aziz. I've set up a private administrator mailing list to help coordinate the current administrators of the site, and I am attempting to contact each administrator to get them to subscribe. You can subscribe here. My point with setting up this mailing list to get all of the administrators of Wookieepedia operating on the same page, and in a more unified fashion. Regardless of any personal differences that may exist between some members, I still feel that it is important that we are all operating on the same level, with regards to knowledge of the site, and new/upcoming stuff that is going to happen—so, basically, this is an attempt to coordinate us all in an effort to help keep us on the same page with regards to new policies, new ideas, announcements, discussions, etc. In my opinion, we're all on the same team and this will only help us to be a more organized and cohesive working unit—even more so than we currently are. I've already spoken with a few admins via IRC, and they have liked my point of this whole thing, and have thus signed up—I would really appreciate it you could do likewise :) Any questions about this, you know where you can reach me. Cheers, Greyman Jan.png (Talk) 16:01, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

  • Not sure if you've had time to sign up, but most other admins have subscribed to the list. If you have subscribed, but haven't received a response from me, please email me with the address you want to use, and I will add it manually to the admin mailing list. There have been one or two instances with other admin's email addresses where I've had to do this. Cheers, Greyman Jan.png (Talk) 04:16, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

SignatureEdit

Can I have a signature? Darth being my user page Revan being my talk page and Lord of the sith being my contributions. Thanks!--The Darth Revan 00:41, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Hey, buddyEdit

Do you still have the Zodge stuff I wrote for Outsider lying around? I had a hard drive crash earlier this year - I was hoping to bum it back from you for reference purposes. Glad to see you're still hanging around. Coop 04:17, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

  • Aww no.... i didn't check Outsider's hotmail address for quite a while, and when i went back recently to check it out i found the whole account had been cleared, emails, contacts, everything.... not happy :-( I'll have to see if i saved it on my old computer - fingers crossed. Outsider will return! --Azizlight 11:01, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
    • S'alright. Let me know if anything turns up. Coop 00:46, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

CSWE Edit

Hey Aziz, great to hear from you again. :D I got the CSWE from the good old fashioned amazon.com, and paid about $78 US for it. It got here pretty quick too, which was surprising, given the season. Thefourdotelipsis 08:02, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

RC-1304Edit

Hello, I was wondering about the RC-1304 article you recently created. I don't want to question the validity of your contribution, but this seems to be an official designation for the clone commando "O-Four", a member of Lambda Squad who died at Geonosis and who's sergeant would go on to lead Omega Squad. I don't have the CSWE but since you do, I'd like to know if you could look the information over again and hear your opinion on the theory. Any reply would be much appreciated. --Shadowxander 02:28, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

user name Edit

is it possible to change my user name?Darth exeltonRepublic Emblem(talk) 20:48, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Redlinks Edit

Would you like to join my group and Ventress112's group called the redlink abolishers, its not an official project but we do go around creating redlinks to help the wiki and we need all the help we can get. (we are not sockpuppets, just friends) --Generalgrievous112

Gauron Nas Tal in Insider Edit

Hey, Azizlight. I saw that you started the article on "Who's Who in Jabba's Palace" from Insider 60. Do you still have access to the article? Could you tell me what it says about Gauron Nas Tal? I'm trying to expand the Saurin article. Thanks for any help! ~ SavageBob 10:08, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

  • Hey Bob! I'm afraid the article doesn't give much detail, but here it is from Insider 60:

Gauron is a Saurin, a reptilian species first seen in A New Hope's cantina scene. Hired by Jabba to train Ortugg and his fellow Gamorrean guards, Gauron was one of many who hoped one day to kill Jabba. In the film Gauron can be glimpsed aboard Jabba's sail barge.
The article also shows a little skull and crossbones next to Gauron's name, likely indicating that he died in Return of the Jedi. --Azizlight 03:17, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

    • Thanks! What's the page number, by the way? ~ SavageBob 03:51, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
      • 85. :-) --Azizlight 04:03, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Nosaurians in Inside 64Edit

It's me again. :) Way back in 2005, you added Insider 64 to the list of references on our Nosaurian article. Do you remember what article they are in? Would you happen to still have the issue to check what it says about them? Thanks again for your help! ~ SavageBob 03:39, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

  • I've had a quick look in issue 64 but i can't seem to find any Nosaurian reference for the moment. I'll have a more thorough look when i get a chance :-). --Azizlight 13:22, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
  • Hey i think i found it. A tiny reference appears in the preview for Coruscant and the Core Worlds: "...while your Nosaurian hero from New Plympto could be a natural tree-climber after selecting Brachiation." I'm not even sure that's worth mentioning as a source any more. --Azizlight 13:37, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
    • OK, that makes sense. I guess it could be a {{mo}} source, but it doesn't look like anything worth adding to the article. Thanks for checking it out. ~ SavageBob 23:30, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Mad About MeEdit

Hey, I know it's not my nom, but your objections to Mad About Me have been satisfied. Just trying to clear some articles off the FAN page. Chack Jadson (Talk) 12:19, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

  • I second this. Let's get this thing moving along. --Eyrezer 01:46, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
  • Cool, thanks. --Azizlight 01:48, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
    • Yeah, woops, voted to strike your objection before I checked to see if you'd been active recently. My sincere apologies about that. ;-) Atarumaster88 Jedi Order (Talk page) 05:33, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

Gah!Edit

So I just now saw your message about Zodge/Outsider - not checking my profile here much these days, plus I thought it was supposed to e-mail me when someone edited it. Oh, well. Let's stick to e-mail from here on just to be safe - upwardprogression at gmail dot com.

Don't worry about the Zodge stuff. It could yet be handy if you did come across it, but I'm long past the point where it was vital - he's evolving into something of a novella at this point. Which isn't to say that I couldn't still do his columns in Outsider, which is to say, sure, I'm still interested. I'm a bit busy for the next month or two, though, so it might be a bit before I have anything of consequence to show you. Coop 04:06, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Activity Edit

I wanted to give you a heads-up that you are perilously close to the six-month mainspace edit requirement for administrators per the new policy. Graestan(Talk) 01:15, September 24, 2009 (UTC)

  • Thanks for the heads-up... i'll be back! --Azizlight 03:28, September 29, 2009 (UTC)

5.3 Factual correction Edit

Facts regarding Thomas J. Spanos as Ganner Krieg as drawn by Jan Duursema are questionable. It seems his costume was created after the first official printing of Legacy. All sources/references on wookieepedia point to Thomas J. Spanos's personal photo blog as fact. In my view this leads to biased fact. We only have his word to go by with no sources confirming Jan Duursema's use of his likeness at all. Suggest removing Thomas J. Spanos from familiar faces until the facts are made clear.

Don Christensen Edit

I've been doing some research on the old daily newspaper strips and I was wondering if you could help me out. I own copies of the strips' entire run and can confirm that Christensen is credited as being a contributer. However the Dark Horse reprints omitted giving him any credit at all. In fact I had to do some digging myself before I stumbled upon Don R. Christensen as the likely contributer because the strip itself only ever gives his last name. So I was wondering if you could tell me how you came upon his first name? Thanks for any help. =)

Random Edit

Okay, I know this is pretty random, but... Is your username from The Fifth Element? --Demos Traxen 04:10, May 30, 2010 (UTC)

  • Yes :-) --Azizlight 02:23, August 12, 2010 (UTC)
    • Love it.--Demos Traxen 03:38, August 12, 2010 (UTC)
      • Gee Arf. You didn't come back JUST to answer that question again, did you? ;) -- Riffsyphon1024 07:08, October 4, 2010 (UTC)

Re: Baldem'nic source Edit

It has an entry in the "Star Wars A-Z" section in the back of the issue. It's pretty much just a condensed version of your Databank entry, nothing new as far as I can tell. Xicer9Atgar(Combadge) 00:52, October 8, 2010 (UTC)

Wehttam in Force Heretic I Edit

Hey, Azizlight! I'm trying to expand the article on the Wehttam species, and I noticed that a few years ago, you added the novel Force Heretic I: Remnant to that article's "Appearances" list. I've been looking for a mention of the species in the novel, but I can't find one. Do you happen to remember where they appear or are mentioned? Thanks for any help! ~ SavageBob 20:07, December 19, 2010 (UTC)

RX-24 in BTM Edit

Hey, Aziz -- Do you happen to remember where or in what capacity RX-24 is mentioned in Star Wars: Behind the Magic? It's the final source I need to check for him, but I can't find him anywhere in the disc. Thanks for any pointers! ~SavageBOB sig 23:06, May 1, 2012 (UTC)

Hey Azizlight,

Saw that you entered info on the author Voronica Whitney-Robinson. I know someone from Massachusetts who may be looking for her, Trip Sargent. She tried to get I touch with him years ago. If you know her whereabouts or how to get in contact with her, please forward my contact info: thesargents1@comcast.net. Many thanks.

Canon article creation/expansionEdit

Canon articles are not to be made by copy and pasting content from Legends articles, but simply removing Legends details, links, and sources. They must be written from scratch. While some information may be shared between Canon and Legends, copying from Legends is not always accurate, is poor editing practice (plagiarism is never allowed), and is not to be done. Trip391 (talk) 21:04, November 6, 2014 (UTC)

  • Ah cool thanks for letting me know. Is there a guide anywhere for Legends/Canon stuff? Azizlight (talk) 21:07, November 6, 2014 (UTC)
    • Don't we wish. There are certain reference guides available, like Star Wars in 100 Scenes, but other than that, not so much. If you're uncertain of anything, then just go straight back to the original source, and if you can't, don't add it, and just add that stuff which you're sure of. ProfessorTofty (talk) 21:18, November 6, 2014 (UTC)
      • Thank you :-) Azizlight (talk) 21:29, November 6, 2014 (UTC)
    • Basically Legends and Canon articles should follow the same Manual of Style and Layout Guide, but should not link to each other. Trip391 (talk) 05:05, November 7, 2014 (UTC)

Rennek in Who's Who Edit

Hello Azizlight, I can see you apparently have Insider 60 as you gave SavageBob the relevant info for Gauron Nas Tal from Who's Who in Jabba's Palace. Would you be able to give the info related to Rennek from that article? Thanks. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 18:05, January 25, 2015 (UTC)
