Hey Brandon, I'm not sure if you remember, but I still have a question on SWFanon. Nicktc 18:57, November 8, 2015 (UTC)

Say, Brandon, if you have some time this evening, could you be on IRC? I had a few things I wanted to bounce off of you. Let me know if there's any time that would be good. Basically, anytime between 8 P.M. eastern and midnight would work if you can do it tonight, or sometime tomorrow maybe. It's not urgent. ProfessorTofty (talk) 18:24, November 10, 2015 (UTC)

  • I'll see if I can get online tonight. Depends on what time I get home. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 18:42, November 10, 2015 (UTC)

C-ROC Gozanti

Hey Brandon. I was just curious about the C-ROC Gozanti you have listed on the page for the blockade of Ibaar. There was a C-ROC Gozanti in the episode, however the rebels were shown obtaining their food supplies from it. Was there another C-ROC in the episode affiliated with the Empire that I just missed, or was it just accidentally listed on the wrong side? Cevan IMPpress (talk) 23:05, November 12, 2015 (UTC)

  • If I recall correctly, it was a Gozanti that the TIE fighters deployed from during the initial run on the blockade. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 23:12, November 12, 2015 (UTC)
    • That was a regular Gozanti, not a C-ROC Gozanti. I believe there were two of them in the blockade.. Cevan IMPpress (talk) 23:26, November 13, 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for clearing that up. Also, I have created another article that is being accused of being fanon, so I need to source it. Can you help? Fan26 (talk) 19:47, November 15, 2015 (UTC)

Re: Luke Skywalker on Er'kit

Sure, I'll try to find a quote and a picture for you. Not sure I'll be able to do it immediately though. As a sidenote: writing about Star Wars Commander missions is really tricky, because it often consists of attacking base after base, whioch is tedious to describe. Fortunately, there are indeed quotes/dialogues that give some sort of scenario. --LelalMekha (talk) 09:47, November 16, 2015 (UTC)

  • Sorry, looks like I forgot about it! Fact is that you can't (as far as I can't tell) play this mission twice. However, I may have just the thing that can help you. There is a guy on Youtube who records his playthroughs. Here is the link to the Echoes of the Force campaign. :-) (On a completely unrelated topic, if I must move a page by adding a /Legends modifier, do I have to change all the links manually?) --LelalMekha (talk) 18:48, December 30, 2015 (UTC)
    • Does that list look big enough to ask RoboCade? ;-) --LelalMekha (talk) 18:52, December 30, 2015 (UTC)
      • I usually do it all by myself too, but hey... sometimes I get lazy. Don't we all, now? ;-) BTW, Heir to the Jedi technically mentions "High Galactic," not the "High Galactic alphabet," but it's made clear they're talking about a written form. (Nakari says "You have to picture it written down in High Galactic instead of listening to it.") Which would you redirect: High Galactic or High Galactic alphabet? --LelalMekha (talk) 19:06, December 30, 2015 (UTC)

Order 66 & Shaak Ti

Hi Brandon. Upon reflection, I agree with your revert – the dramatic nature in which the Togruta Jedi's face is revealed in 'Star Wars 9' isn't proof enough of Shaak Ti's initial survival. A different wiki user has included Shaak Ti on the article's list of Known Survivors – I'll take her off of that, as well. Obi-wan Baloney (talk) 20:36, November 24, 2015 (UTC)

  • Great. And yeah, while it could be Shaak Ti, we don't know yet. So good call on removing the other references to her. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 20:45, November 24, 2015 (UTC)

Legends pages organization

Hi, Now that Wookiepedia default pages are Canon instead of Legends, I have some doubts in creating new pages. For example, I'd like to create the Mechno-arm page for Canon, with the intel in, but it is a Legends article. How should I proceed to transform this page into Mechon-arm/Legends and turn the other one into Canon the proper way??

Pedronog (talk) 20:07, December 21, 2015 (UTC)Pedronog

Hi there. Thanks for asking! You can follow these steps, in this order:
  1. Change all existing links to Mechno-arm on Legends pages to Mechno-arm/Legends.
  2. Move Mechno-arm to Mechno-arm/Legends.
  3. Replace the redirect on Mechno-arm with the canonical content.
And that's it! - Brandon Rhea(talk) 21:04, December 21, 2015 (UTC)
  • If I may add a question here, should we also edit Forum:x, Talk:y, and Wookieepedia:z pages to link to the new name, or only edit articles when renaming a page to /Legends? Thank you. Reddyredcp (talk) 17:29, December 23, 2015 (UTC)
    • Hmm, that's a good question. I would ask Cade about that. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 18:57, December 23, 2015 (UTC)

Novels are Canon??

Has this just confirmed every film novelization to be canon???

Canon novels

Pedronog (talk) 10:23, December 30, 2015 (UTC)Pedronog

  • I don't think so. That's still really vague, and still seems to uphold the "canon where it aligns with the films" mantra. Unless we're explicitly told what is and isn't canon for those books, it's much easier for our purposes to not put that information into canon pages. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 15:05, December 30, 2015 (UTC)

Mee Deechi

According to Ultimate Star Wars Umbara seceded following the assassination of Mee Deechi as a result of his demise. - AV-6R7Crew Pit 22:11, December 30, 2015 (UTC)

Re: Mee Deechi

Thanks for your message. The page I added was not actually broken, but rather if you go to the backup link, you'll see past versions from 16 Dec 12 - 28 Jun 14. That said, upon looking through what I can, though the second 2 images in Mothma's slideshow are broken, it is unlikely he'd be pictured at all under the headings "Architect of the Rebellion" or "Opposing the Emperor." It also seems that broken Encyclopedia biography slideshows are the same images as the new Databank, where there's no image of him to be found. But in the future I'll refrain from making those additions if I can't personally verify them myself. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 17:44, December 31, 2015 (UTC)

  • Addendum: it is strange that the link I added to Mothma did indeed lead to a broken page. I just copied and pasted straight from the Legends sourcelist, and clicking the backup link from there will lead to accessible versions from 16 Dec 12 - 28 Jun 14. But as I mentioned, I now question if he was even pictured in the Encyclopedia entry at all, but will nonetheless leave the Legends version alone as I can't verify one way or the other. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 17:48, December 31, 2015 (UTC)
    • I think I also trust you in that regard with Canon articles you work on. I believe in the future if I continue seeing more of your works, I'll just assume you have all the Canon sources listed unless it's missing something that I myself personally verified (for example if any of my quality articles gets a Canon name, as I devoted lots of time to checking the old Encyclopedia/ film pages myself for them). Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 17:58, December 31, 2015 (UTC)

Legends and Canon pages

Hi Brandon. I just wanted to make sure I've got this down right before I change a bunch of redirect links and create a category nightmare. Basically, if I want to create a canon page with the exact same name as a legends one, I'd simply go to the legends page first, move it to say, Mustafarian language/Legends, then I'd create a new page called simply Mustafarian language?

Also, I'd assume that when I change the page to Mustafarian language/Legends, all the links on other legends pages across Wookieepedia will auto-change to Mustafarian Language/Legends. Am I correct on this? Thanks. - Comm. Boots (talk) 18:50, December 31, 2015 (UTC)

  • Hey Boots. They won't auto-change. You have to do it manually. This is the process:
    1. Rename the page from "Name" to "Name/Legends."
    2. Change all of the redirects to point them towards the new link.
    3. Create the canon page at "Name."
  • It has to be done in that order so Legends pages aren't linking to canon pages. If there are too many links for you to change manually, you can always ask Cade if his bot can do it. But the link changes have to be done before the creation of the canon page, so make sure you're only utilizing this process when you have the time to invest in changing the links. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 18:53, December 31, 2015 (UTC)

Funeral of Anakin Skywalker

Since you promoted Funeral of Anakin Skywalker to Good status, I just thought you might like to know that I added a bit of info about it from Return of the Jedi: Beware the Power of the Dark Side!, as well as added the title as an appearance. The book just gives a bit of additional info on Luke's thoughts at the time; that he knew that nobody else was going to mourn Anakin's passing. ProfessorTofty (talk) 00:34, January 2, 2016 (UTC)

Jedi massacre

Considering your edits on the Jedi Massacre page, I don't think that's right. The Knights of Ren were there. Unsigned comment by Mandarian (talk • contribs).

  • Pablo Hidalgo from the Lucasfilm Story Group said on Twitter that the scene in Rey's vision showing the Knights of Ren was not from the Jedi massacre. He said that scene was from somewhere else, but didn't say what. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 04:41, January 3, 2016 (UTC)
    • Regarding this topic, given the work that you've been doing on it, I was wondering what your opinion would be on possibly creating a page regarding the students Luke was training. I've been thinking of creating such an article with the conjectural title "Luke Skywalker's Jedi trainees," but given that such an article hasn't been created, nor apparently considered, I wanted to get your thoughts. ProfessorTofty (talk) 08:43, January 4, 2016 (UTC)

Clone Wars template

Hey Brandon. A minor aesthetic question, but I was wondering why you modified {{Canon Clone Wars}} to add more rows. To my knowledge, the template doesn't have a row length requirement, since {{Conflict nav wrapper}} is locked at 500px, so making the rows shorter unnecessarily increases the template's vertical length. Thanks. CC7567 (talk) 02:26, January 5, 2016 (UTC)

A Princess in Lothal

Greetings Brandon Rhea, I write this message to ask if the heading "A Princess in Lothal" is the official title, because there was other pieces of evidence earlier that said it was titled "A Princess ON Lothal"? I am currently making these changes on the other Wikia's I work on, and I wish to be one hundred percent sure that this is correct. Unsigned comment by Alex2424121 (talk • contribs).

  • Hey. The ones that said "A Princess on Lothal" were from fan sites. The actual news release says "A Princess in Lothal," as does the Twitter here. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 19:51, January 11, 2016 (UTC)

The Rebellion

Hi there,

I have got a question about the rebellion. Which source names that network as the rebellion? I'm beginning work on the Phoenix rebel cell article and I'm not sure which source explicitly identifies the "rebellion" as the official name of this rebel network. Thanks for your time. Andykatib 01:59, January 14, 2016 (UTC)

  • Take your pick! The characters in the show refer to it as "the rebellion" all the time. The Databank and Episode Guides also say "the rebellion" a lot. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 02:00, January 14, 2016 (UTC)
    • Thanks for clarifying the matter. Appreciate your help very much. Andykatib 03:06, January 14, 2016 (UTC)

About articles concerning the New Republic

I would like to work on articles for certain topics mentioned in the books surrounding The Force Awakens, one of which is the "Republic Command." It is mentioned in Before The Awakening, and is, of course, the council that leads the New Republic's military forces. However, it is never formally identified as "New Republic Command" - so when creating this article, should it be titled New Republic Command or simply Republic Command until it is possibly later referenced as New Republic Command? Thank you. Reddyredcp (talk) 03:53, January 16, 2016 (UTC)

  • Hey, good question. It should be called Republic Command until it's formally identified as New Republic Command. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 03:55, January 16, 2016 (UTC)
    • Thanks for clearing that up! Reddyredcp (talk) 06:43, January 16, 2016 (UTC)

Old Republic

Ah, sorry about the speculative info. I hope it did not count as vandalism in any way. Although I did think it was mentioned in TCW that the Sith had an empire somewhere. Anyway, sorry about the speculation. :) Darth Ravigious (talk) 19:06, January 18, 2016 (UTC)

  • Hey, no worries. The Sith definitely did have empires, but we know very little about the era of the Old Republic. I don't believe there are any sources out there saying that the Old Republic fought against the Sith. They probably did, but we don't know for sure yet. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 19:07, January 18, 2016 (UTC)
    • Actually, something that could be mentioned though, if it is even necessary, is that the Sith achieved galactic dominance at one point and conquered Coruscant to build the shrine (since it is mentioned in Tarkin). Or, is the fact that the Old Republic even controlled Coruscant still speculation? (I only read the books and watch Rebels, so I don't know if it was in the comics or I'm forgetting something from TCW) Darth Ravigious (talk) 19:11, January 18, 2016 (UTC)
      • It would be speculation that the Old Republic controlled Coruscant, yeah. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 19:12, January 18, 2016 (UTC)

Unidentified Rogue Jedi

Hey Brandon! We were talking about this on the Hundred Year Darkness page, involving the "First Sith". I was able to locate the sources on a couple of the pages (including databank references). I made it short, since there are only a handful of references. You think this is legit?

Lothal insurgency article

Hi there,

I'm working on the Lothal insurgency article. I'm wondering whether to focus solely on events that occur on and around Lothal or whether I should also include all of the other adventures from Star Wars Rebels Season One that occurs outside of Lothal, eg. Rise of the Old Masters which takes place on Stygeon Prime. In an earlier Senate Hall discussion, you suggested renaming the Lothal insurgency article in order to reflect the entirety of the Season One rebel activities against the Empire. I've also included some events from Jason Fry's tie-in novel Servants of the Empire: Edge of the Galaxy since the Empire treats any dissent (whether a peaceful protest or insurgents sabotaging mining machinery) as an act of rebellion. Hmm, what are your thoughts on this matter? Andykatib 06:13, January 20, 2016 (UTC)

  • I still think a broader article about the activities of the early rebellion is a better idea. Remember, "Lothal insurgency" is a totally made up and conjectural name. It's not actually a thing, so we don't actually have to include anything under that name. Activities that don't relate to the Ghost crew or the rebellion can just be treated as standalone activities. What do you think? - Brandon Rhea(talk) 16:02, January 20, 2016 (UTC)
    • I agree. Sorry for the late response, have been busy with other things. We could probably rename the Lothal insurgency article something like the "Early Rebellion" or the "Lothal rebels' insurgency". These titles are just provisional conjectural ones until Disney-Lucasfilm tells us more. Andykatib 23:34, January 21, 2016 (UTC)
      • I have been watching A Princess on Lothal and I noticed that Leia Organa and Yogar Lyste both mentioned that there was a rebel insurgency on Lothal. Do you think they are referring to the Lothal insurgency or the wider rebel insurgency against the Empire. What are your thoughts on this matter? Andykatib 06:10, February 1, 2016 (UTC)
        • I think it's just referencing the cell that's part of the rebellion. Whether Lyste knows about the wider rebellion is anyone's guess. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 15:27, February 1, 2016 (UTC)
          • Thanks for your advice. We could probably rename the Lothal insurgency article the "rebel insurgency" and make it cover all of the rebellion's activities, including those of the Lothal rebels and the Phoenix rebel cell. But we could make it clear that it's a nickname. What do you think? Andykatib 01:51, February 2, 2016 (UTC)

Moving Military (Republic) to Republic military

It appears I do not have permission to do this since the page already exists as a redirect for the Legends Republic Military article. I'm not sure why I named the former article that in the first place (mistake on my part) but it appears it wouldn't have worked either way. The warning told me to contact an administrator. Will you help me out with this? Thank you! Reddyredcp (talk) 17:39, January 23, 2016 (UTC)

The Protector of Concord Dawn

Just so you know, I originally wrote that extensive plot for "The Protector of Concord Dawn" on Star Wars Rebels Wiki from scratch along with the others I applied on here. Since it is my own written work I did not think the Plagiarism rule applied.--Alex2424121 (talk) 15:09, January 28, 2016 (UTC)

  • I'm not rewriting it as a result of plagiarism. Having duplicate content is harmful for Search Engine Optimization (SEO). It doesn't do Wookieepedia or Rebels Wiki any good with search engines to have pages that are the same. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 15:11, January 28, 2016 (UTC)

Aurebesh in Rebels

Hello Brandon! Seeing how many of the new midseason Rebels episodes are hiding lots of Aurebesh text in viewports, posters, terminals and magazines, I was wondering if you know of anyone here that's actively translating these miscellaneous sayings. There's also some very pin-up esque pictures hanging on Zeb's wall, which could be interesting to find out what they're called. Comm. Boots (talk) 03:07, February 4, 2016 (UTC)

  • I do not, but I know there's sites out there where you can look up what each symbol means, if you wanted to take a crack at it. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 03:09, February 4, 2016 (UTC)

Re: TCWcanondates

I created {{TCWdates}} for Legends dating because I got tired of copy-pasting the complicated references for dates, so {{TCWcanondates}} serves a similar purpose. CC7567 (talk) 22:29, February 5, 2016 (UTC)

Film template - Appearances section

Say, Brandon, remember this? I actually thought it was a really good idea and I hate for it be one of those things that just ends up fading away because it got lost in the shuffle. Any chance of more work on this? ProfessorTofty (talk) 00:13, February 6, 2016 (UTC)

  • Only a handful of people commented on it, and no admins commented on it (aside from Culator, whose comment wasn't in favor or against). So we don't really have a representative sample of the community to move ahead with it. Ball's not really in my court at this point, unfortunately. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 01:01, February 6, 2016 (UTC)

Good person

You are a good person. Yoso~! 04:39, February 6, 2016 (UTC)Ohvist

  • I'm assuming this is in reference to me re-adding your additions? If so, Omicron and CC7567 aren't bad people just because Omicron reverted your edits and CC has been explaining Wookieepedia's policies. So far as I'm aware, Omicron isn't familiar with the events of Star Wars Rebels, so he couldn't add the citations for you. You need to ensure that any edit you make is sourced, just like the sourcing I added. CC is also correct to tell you that your attitude in your edit summaries has been unnecessarily antagonist. When you see information that hasn't been added yet, that's not because people have been negligent. There are plenty articles on the site from a lot of sources, both new and old, that don't have fully updated information. When you see that, simply add the information (with sources). Insulting people is not necessary. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 04:42, February 6, 2016 (UTC)

Great job with the Rey article

I just noticed that you've essentially written the entire page on Rey, which is a tremendous feat that must not go upraised. I logged onto the Wook, headed to the page to mention a few things and BAM! Everything was already written in way more depth than I could've imagined. Great work! - Comm. Sidious mention in "Shroud of Darkness"

Hey Brandon, I was just wondering when "Sidious" or "Palpatine" is said in "Shroud of Darkness." I know both the Chancellor and Vader's master are mentioned, which we know to be Sidious, so unless his name is actually mentioned and I just missed it it would count as an indirect mention. Cevan IMPpress (talk) 21:50, March 2, 2016 (UTC)

  • It was explained recently that those kinds of references still count as actual mentions, not indirect mentions. It came up after Luke references "my father" in a recent issue of the Star Wars comic, and it was Cade who explained that "my father" still counts as an actual mention of Anakin Skywalker. "The chancellor" and "my master" follow the same principle. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 21:52, March 2, 2016 (UTC)
    • Got it; thanks! Cevan IMPpress (talk) 21:53, March 2, 2016 (UTC)

Imperial Command

I noticed that you were the one who added the Appearances to Star Wars Rebels: The Visual Guide, so I was wondering if you could check the details on a reference for me. I'm trying to fill out the redlinks on Zare Leonis and this guide is the only reference to "Imperial Command." According to Zare's article, he used his time at the Academy for Young Imperials to supply intelligence to the rebels about Imperial Command. Is this all that this guide has to say when it comes to Imperial Command? ProfessorTofty (talk) 23:21, March 13, 2016 (UTC)

  • That's all it says, as best as I can tell. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 23:58, March 13, 2016 (UTC)
    • Alright. Not much to make an article on, but I guess it's all we got. Just wanted to make sure because I found that a version which somebody had attempted to create before had been CSDed. ProfessorTofty (talk) 00:02, March 14, 2016 (UTC)
      • Basically it's meant to be the political and military command structure of Lothal, since Zare does ultimately pass relevant political and military info to the rebels. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 00:24, March 14, 2016 (UTC)

Some questions

Hello, Brandon Rhea. My name is The Dark Lord of the Sith. I am a relatively new user on Wookieepedia, thus I am not too familiar with the site and how it operates. There are a few things I would like to know…

  • Would these three images (which I uploaded for use on my user page, as is allowed according to the user image policy) be categorized as fan art or Blu-ray covers, given there official but altered nature: 1, 2, 3?
    • I'd consider them Blu ray covers, personally. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 04:46, March 14, 2016 (UTC)
  • So long as it linked back to my user page, would changing the text in my present signature to Aurebesh violate Wookieepedia's signature policy?
    • I'm not entirely sure, but probably. The policy says you have to include your actual username in your signature. Technically an argument could be made that an Aurebesh presentation of your name is still your name, but I don't think that'd be in line with the spirit of the policy. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 04:46, March 14, 2016 (UTC)
  • Is it okay to use canon material from a Legends article to improve/expand upon the content of its canon counterpart, so long as it is rewritten to avoid redundancy?
    • See this for an example of what I mean.
      • Yes, but please make sure that it's fully rewritten rather than just changing some words around. For me that's less of a policy issue and more the fact that duplicate content is penalized in search engine results. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 04:46, March 14, 2016 (UTC)
  • How does Wookieepedia's canon policy apply to infobox images? Are we only allowed to use images from canon sources?
    • I understand we do not want the canon and Legends articles to be identical. However, I am of the opinion that some images from Legends sources (such as character encyclopedias/visual dictionaries) illustrate their subject matter much more clearly and professionally than many images (screenshots) from canon sources do. Therefore, I feel the clarity of an image should determine its usage in an infobox, not its source.
      • Compare this to this.
        • If it is indeed true that we can only use images from canon sources in the infoboxes on canon articles, pages such as Mace Windu, Grievous, and Dooku do not presently adhere to this policy and need to be corrected, no?
          • I would tend to agree with you about clarity of an image when it comes to live action content, but policy says we can only use images from canon sources. In regards to Mace Windu, Grievous, and Dooku, those images are all available through Official Pix which, until recently, was still officially licensed in the Disney era. So because that license continued under Disney, images from it are fair game under our policies. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 04:46, March 14, 2016 (UTC)
  • What is our policy on the usage of screenshots in infoboxes?
    • I am of the opinion that screenshots look very sloppy and unprofessional when used in infoboxes; to me, they should only be used as a last resort (if nothing else exists to illustrate a particular subject). Rather than screenshots, I feel we should only make use of images from sources such as character encyclopedias and visual dictionaries due to their clarity and neutral backgrounds.
      • If we must use screenshots on a particular article/in general, I'd like to suggest that rather than take our own, we utilize the "official" ones from the Databank entries on…
        • Use promotional photos, character encyclopedia/visual dictionary photos, etc as infobox images whenever possible. If those aren't available, find a screenshot that would work well enough for an infobox. We do often use the Databank, but taking our own screenshots is fine as long as they are of high quality. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 04:46, March 14, 2016 (UTC)

Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. I apologize if the answers I seek are already given on Wookieepedia's policy pages. In regards to my opinions on image usage, I made them known to you because I do not wish to create trouble by making changes to articles to reflect them. I know that if someone wants to change an infobox image, the matter needs to be discussed first. I want the time I spend as a Wookieepedia editor go smoothly and be stress-free for everyone, thus I felt I should contact you. I hope to hear back from you soon; may the Force be with you! - Sith canon The Dark Lord of the Sith Sith canon 03:44, March 14, 2016 (UTC)

  • I was happy to answer (and, for the sake of formatting and ease of reading, I've answered them all above within your message). These are great, detailed questions. Thank you for asking them! - Brandon Rhea(talk) 04:46, March 14, 2016 (UTC)

Zare Leonis

As I'm sure you've probably noticed, Andykatib and I have been working on hard on the page for Zare Leonis. I've filled out most of the redlinks and I think I'm getting to the point of being ready to nominate it for Featured article status. However, before I do so, I think it might be helpful to have the page looked over by somebody who isn't too involved, as I know I'm not always the best person when it comes to proofreading my own work. I was wondering if you might be interested in doing that, given that you're the original creator of the article and also are fairly big in WookieProject Rebels. ProfessorTofty (talk) 21:52, March 15, 2016 (UTC)

  • P.S.: This would be with a general eye towards anything that could be made clearer, any issues of spelling or grammar that by some chance haven't already been noticed (I've already been through the entire article once for that) and any detail that might found needlessly excessive. ProfessorTofty (talk) 21:56, March 15, 2016 (UTC)
    • Sure, just let me know when it's ready. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 14:28, March 16, 2016 (UTC)
      • It's ready now. You can go ahead and start looking it over anytime that you like. There is one glaring issue that needs to be corrected, but I actually wanted your opinion on that. Sometimes, Zare is referred to in the article as "Leonis" and at other times as "Zare." I know it's normal practice to use last name's but given that the article sometimes references his parents, as well as his sister, I was wondering if it might be better to use his first name. Or would be better to mostly use his last name, but use his first name in parts where using the last name would be confusing? ProfessorTofty (talk) 22:31, March 16, 2016 (UTC)
        • I usually refer to the subject of the article by their last name, but then relatives by their first name. So like, "Leonis rescued Dhara from the Academy." Or in my Luke Skywalker workspace, for example, "Skywalker redeemed Anakin." And so on. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 23:08, March 16, 2016 (UTC)
          • That works for me, then. I'll go ahead and make any appropriate changes to the article as far as that goes, then. Other than that, feel free to go ahead and start looking over the article for any other tweaks you feel might be necessary and/or feel free to simply make said changes. ProfessorTofty (talk) 23:15, March 16, 2016 (UTC)
            • Mind if I make edits directly? - Brandon Rhea(talk) 23:38, March 16, 2016 (UTC)
              • Not at all. In that case, then, can I ask that you wait until I've finished making the corrections on the naming, then? I'll let you know just as soon as I'm finished and then you can go ahead. Sound good? ProfessorTofty (talk) 23:44, March 16, 2016 (UTC)

(reset) Sure. The biggest thing I'm going to do at first is add some more images, since there are other images that can be added to illustrate certain subjects throughout the article. That'll reduce the currently-long stretches of nothing but text. Couple of other points I noticed:

  • Be sure to finish the rest of the red links.
  • Make sure you're correctly formatting words like "human." I'm seeing at least one instance where it's capitalized, when it showed be lowercase.
  • The intro should be longer than it is now. It should give a concise but a bit more comprehensive overview than what's currently there.

- Brandon Rhea(talk) 23:53, March 16, 2016 (UTC)

  • Good idea about the images. And yes, I'll definitely finish out the rest of the redlinks. Offhand, I believe there are only four left, so I'll be taking care of them within the next day or two at most. As far as the formatting on words like human, well, good spot. Feel free to go ahead and correct any you see like that. And as for the intro, yeah, you're right, one paragraph really isn't enough. Well, I'll see about whipping up something lengthier and more detailed, but for now, it's all yours. ProfessorTofty (talk) 00:23, March 17, 2016 (UTC)

This Is Madness thingy

Hi :) I'm Reep (Redwall wiki username; long story). I saw you answering questions on the This Is Madness 2016 comments, so I figured you'd be the right person to contact about this. Will you please find my entry for This Is Madness and disqualify it? I made the stupid mistake of not reading the rules before entering, and discovered afterwards that I'm 2 years too young (I'm 16) to enter. Is that alright? Thanks :) -- Kal Skirata Kal Skirata Tatsushi incoming 01:36, March 16, 2016 (UTC)
Hey. We can actually send a waiver to the parents/guardians of anyone under 18, which would let the parent/guardian give permission for the under 18 winner to claim the prize. So if you want we can keep your entry and, if you win, we can just send that waiver. That work? - Brandon Rhea(talk) 14:27, March 16, 2016 (UTC)
Oh, well, yeah that works! :D You can keep it in. Thank you! - Kal Skirata Kal Skirata Tatsushi incoming 20:46, March 18, 2016 (UTC)

My attitude maybe "unnecessary," but we are not supposed to encourage laziness. We routinely delete Knowledge Bank questions that could have been answered easily by actually reading an article. Besides, some people in charge here have had a rather... colorful attitude for many years, but I don't recall anyone ever calling them out for that. Nevertheless, I wish you a pleasant day. --LelalMekha (talk) 14:35, March 17, 2016 (UTC)

  • The attitude from anyone is wrong. It keeps otherwise good people from becoming part of the community when a simple question is met with hostility. What the community far too often sees as "lazy" is just a good faith attempt to ask a question. So rather than being rude to them, be constructive and help them out instead. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 14:37, March 17, 2016 (UTC)
    • Fair enough. Then I'll try and take your natural kindness as an inspiration in the future. Thank you, and, again, have a pleasant day. --LelalMekha (talk) 14:49, March 17, 2016 (UTC)
      • Wouldn't it be easier to just have me banned for a while? You certainly have that power of influence, and it looks like this wiki doesn't need people like me anymore. Do go ahead, denounce me. I have ceased to care. --LelalMekha (talk) 18:29, March 20, 2016 (UTC)
        • I have no influence over banning people, and the "woe is me" attitude is getting old. Not every minor thing you disagree with needs to be a dramatic production, and you certainly don't need to keep being rude to people when you disagree with them. Cevan's edit to Chandelier/Canon was appropriate, because you did not specify where the name came from. What would actually be easier is to recognize "whoops, I made a mistake on that page, thanks for catching it" and then fixing it, rather than acting like someone slighted you. That's a simple fix and avoids unnecessary arguments. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 18:33, March 20, 2016 (UTC)
          • Yes, it's getting old. But in case you haven't noticed, I'm not exactly aiming to please you right there. After all, you are the nice one. And spare me the "I have no influence" skit. There are all sorts of people in charge, some of which are more informal than others. This place has become your kingdom these past few months—since the discarding of the EU, which obviously pleased you so much that you suddenly became more active than ever. Now go complain to your friends. I frankly don't care anymore. Darth Culator (yes, I said it at last!) has been rude for years, but he has an admin shield. --LelalMekha (talk) 18:47, March 20, 2016 (UTC)
            • Not only do I have no influence over whether you could be banned or not (nor do I have any influence over how admins behave), but you haven't done anything to warrant a ban. So I think I'm going to leave it at that, ultimately. I don't really want to be part of what seems like a personal issue for you. Just remember that most people here are contributing in good faith, and disagreeing doesn't mean you have to be disagreeable. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 18:53, March 20, 2016 (UTC)

On the Rey page you said I added "speculation" and "unnecessary editing". The editing I added was to match with the other The Force Awakens characters' pages saying, First Order-Resistance conflict in that time frame in their biography, and the "speculation" was not speculation because what I added was confirmed by Pablo Hidalgo on Twitter. --Kyle03 (talk) 17:53, March 20, 2016 (UTC)

Battle of Naboo mention.

My apologies. I added the Battle of Naboo mention, because it was listed on the episode's page. Roger Murtaugh (talk) 01:49, March 26, 2016 (UTC)

Great Scourge of Malachor

Just out of curiosity (a friendly question), what is your opinion on how the usage of Malachor looks so far? I honestly had my fingers crossed that this would be a canon Mandalorian Wars, but still... Darth Ravigious (talk) 18:09, March 28, 2016 (UTC)

  • Not much to go on yet to really form an opinion, but I'm excited to see what the lore is surrounding Malachor! - Brandon Rhea(talk) 18:16, March 28, 2016 (UTC)
    • I am as well, but I have that equally anxious and excited feeling. Did you see the TV spot with the creepy lady holocron with the Zerg Queen voice? I'm actually not going to be surprised if it is her. Darth Ravigious (talk) 18:24, March 28, 2016 (UTC)
      • I did. It'll be interesting to see what that is. They hinted that the superweapon there is part of the overall lore of the Force-based power surrounding superweapons, up to and including Starkiller Base. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 18:30, March 28, 2016 (UTC)
        • I'm guessing you first thought Traya too xD. I am guessing the canon MSG will be one of those kyber crystal weapons, which I think is just as cool as any old gravity well thing. Like, the frozen statues remind me of Pompeii, so maybe it'll be a giant nuclear holocaust or something. I think there is a possibility it could be the canon Ruusan. Darth Ravigious (talk) 18:41, March 28, 2016 (UTC)
          • Traya actually didn't cross my mind. I doubt they'd canonize her at this point. If anything, I could see them dropping a Revan reference, though. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 18:44, March 28, 2016 (UTC)
            • It ocurred to me initially due to it being Malachor, and the temple sharing the EXACT same aesthetics as the Trayus Academy. However, I could also see it being canon Zannah. That would make things interesting.Darth Ravigious (talk) 18:50, March 28, 2016 (UTC)
              • Does it look like the Trayus Academy, though? This is the Trayus Academy, while the Malachor temple seems more based around the aesthetics of the temple on Moraband. As for Zannah or being a canon version of Ruusan, the rise of Darth Bane and the fall of the old Sith is still around 1,000 or so years before the films, and the Great Scourge of Malachor is thousands of years before Episode VII. So the Great Scourge of Malachor is presumably just another major event in the ancient history of the galaxy. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 18:53, March 28, 2016 (UTC)
                • I meant what I presume to be the interior looks like the Trayus Core, where Ezra found the holocron. BioWare also, in SWTOR, made the weirdest reference that stated Malachor was not entirely destroyed after KOTOR 2, and you don't even really see the planet blow up. And I think Filoni said something about one-thousand years, but it could have been a mere slip. I hpe you are right though and it is more in line with KOTOR canon Darth Ravigious (talk) 19:00, March 28, 2016 (UTC)
                • Oh, I also saved the article I wrote. In case that is the GSoM exactly, could we re-insert that one?Darth Ravigious (talk) 22:22, March 28, 2016 (UTC)

Encyclopedia as canon?

On the X-wing article you mentioned that it had been decided the old online encyclopedia was considered canon despite the sources being marked obsolete and having been deleted from the official web site in May of 2014. This isn't mentioned in the article for canon. Is there anywhere on Wookiepdia that lays out the rationale for this? Thanks! Gonkgonkgonk (talk) 18:09, March 28, 2016 (UTC)

  • It was removed in July 2014, so it was around for about 2 and a half months after the canon/Legends change. The Databank update came about not because of the canon change, but because all of was updated with a new look/design/etc. The Encyclopedia wasn't based in the EU, and was like the Databank in that it simply provided more information on the films and TV shows. So because it was still online after the canon change, and because nothing from it is Legends, there's no reason not to continue utilizing it for information that only expanded upon purely canonical info. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 18:11, March 28, 2016 (UTC)
If that is the case, why was all of the specific information like ship lengths etc. dropped during the update? I wouldn't expect the web site to have been immediately deleted/updated all former EU material barring some kind of large concerted effort before the reboot announcement. 2 months is actually pretty quick turnaround to catch the site up to the new canon paradigm. Things like ship length are relevant to a lot of areas and it would be helpful to have something definitive. Surely this kind of thing would be listed in a less questionable, still extant source...? Gonkgonkgonk (talk) 18:20, March 28, 2016 (UTC)
In general, Lucasfilm has stepped away from providing detailed specifications in more recent sources, but that doesn't make them any less official. If you disagree with this stance, then it's something you should start a community discussion about. But to be honest, I don't see that discussion changing anything. We've used the Encyclopedia for 2 years in canon pages and it hasn't been a problem, and Lucasfilm hasn't said that the information is incorrect. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 18:23, March 28, 2016 (UTC)

Article I am making

I am currently working on a short article that I currently call "Mandalorian-Jedi conflict", about the war that happened between them during the days of the Old Republic. This war has been referenced several times throughout the Clone Wars and once on Star Wars Database, and also appears on a mural in an episode of the Clone Wars. I was wondering if I could run the article by you so you could confirm its appropriateness. It doesn't have any Legends content in it at all, but I just wanted to get it peer reviewed just in case it is not up to Wookieepedian standards.Darth Ravigious (talk) 20:27, March 29, 2016 (UTC)

  • I think this is similar to the "Sith Empires" page - it's not one subject, it's a series of subjects for which we have no context other than "this thing happened." So personally, I'd recommend not creating the page. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 20:41, March 29, 2016 (UTC)

Page Verification

Hi again. I created a page (, and I feel I have provided a viable source for it, but I'm not sure whether the issue comes from my lack of knowledge with the wiki's source of coding, or with the entire article itself.

I'm Blue (Da Ba Dee)... (Message Wall) 23:23, April 2, 2016 (UTC)

  • Hey. The Star Tours ride (both incarnations) is not a source of canon information. It's included in the Legends continuity pages here on Wookieepedia, but it's not a canonical storyline. Elements of it have made it into canon, of course, most notably in Star Wars Rebels in episodes like "Droids in Distress." So the issue on the StarSpeeder 1000/Canon page is that there is no canonical source that's been provided that uses the name StarSpeeder 1000. Knowing that the Endor Express web page (which is a fan site) is not a canon source, do you know of any sources of canonical information that say that StarSpeeder 1000 is a canon name? If I haven't explained the canon/Legends distinction well enough either, please let me know. Thanks! - Brandon Rhea(talk) 23:39, April 2, 2016 (UTC)

Sorry if I came off rude to the new user, thank you for your concern towards it, however youare actually missing some context... I am conversing with him on another wiki, and I think you will find if you look there some of thte gaps you see in my behaviour that caused your concern... He does not have a source for his information other than his own time in the military, and he is trying to restructure first order military based on his experience and an idea that if he edits the pages he will be effectively fixing the star wars canon. ralok (talk) 03:22, April 4, 2016 (UTC)

Jedi-Mandalorian Conflict

Alright. Thanks for letting me know. In terms of the information deemed speculatory, I've noticed a lot of the other articles say similar things (including the Jedi Order and Old Republic articles, relating to some kind of Mandalorian incursion). To be frank though, I just wish we'd be given more information on things like this besides little passing references. Aside from the "Great Scourge of Malachor", which I myself am not extremely impressed with, and vage tidbits of the Hundred-Year Darkness, we do not have much in regards to canon Galactic history. • I'll have a look over those articles in a bit. And when I was verifying, I was simply using the same exact sources verified by those articles...which just so happened to really just be "The Mandalore Plot". Seems like a lot of speculation and wishful thinking went into the writing of these articles :P Darth Ravigious (talk) 13:52, April 4, 2016 (UTC)
    • Exactly. There was an anon about a week or so ago who tried to sneak in (in the GSoM article) that it took place during the war against the Mandalorians, and that the superweapon was the Republic's, probably trying to tie it to KotOR lore. I'm honestly not even convinced Malachor and Malachor V are canon/legends equivalents to one another at all. I am not even entirely not sure about having the two pages linked. There were several Malachors after all, and who is to say that they did not visit Malachor III? I will say that it does help redirect Legends fans to canon lore and canon fans to legends lore, but that's about it. Darth Ravigious (talk)

Speedy deletion

Just out of curiosity for future edits, are only senior editors and mods allowed to post speedy deletion templates? Just want to know for future reference in case someone like me happens to catch any blatantly nonsense articles. They make their way here every day. Darth Ravigious (talk) 18:01, April 4, 2016 (UTC)

  • Good question! Anyone can tag an article. An admin can then decide whether to delete it or not. Just use it sparingly, though. For example, on an article that clearly shouldn't exist. You should never use it on an article that just needs to be improved. If it's just something that needs to be improved, the right course of action would be to clean the page up and then leave the author of it a message letting them know how they can improve in their next contributions. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 18:07, April 4, 2016 (UTC)
    • And for articles with no sources we're to use Lott Dod, correct? Darth Ravigious (talk) 18:10, April 4, 2016 (UTC)

Suggestions for an infobox

I have been working on Atollon page in my workbench to improve the article which is part of WookieeProject: Rebels. I was reading other feaured/good articles, I took them as an example and prepared an infobox for the page. I was wondering if it is too much detailed or it is OK. I would be very glad if you glance at the infobox on my workbench. Thanks! TanDivoInsignia-SenateMurders AnilSerifoglu (talk) 18:45, April 4, 2016 (UTC)

  • Good question! Anywhere it says "None," I'd remove that and leave the field blank since we don't know most of that for sure. For the species, you could remove None and then combine human, Lasat, and Twi'lek into one and then put the "circa 3 years" note after that one. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 18:49, April 4, 2016 (UTC)
    • Thanks a lot for the tips! It is going to be my first major edit and I'm very glad for all the help I get on Wookieepedia. In Rebels Recon #2.19, Dave Filoni describes the planet as "off a major route", "there is no real resources", "a planet that no one has been on for a very long time". I thought it confirms that there is no native/immigrated species, nor governement (etc.) at the time of the rebels' arrival. TanDivoInsignia-SenateMurders AnilSerifoglu (talk) 19:10, April 4, 2016 (UTC)

Hmm, that's possible. I had perceived Dodonna's line (full quote below) as him saying since the Senate has dissolved, Leia at least has her title of princess, whereas Mothma has no title besides her now-former title of senator. It's possible I'm just misinterpreting this, though.

"Senat–Princess, rather. There is no more Senate, is there? Only the Alliance. Mon Mothma is especially at sea. She no longer has an official title, only a role."

Thank you some much for correcting me on the Moraband/Korriban policy. However you should perhaps get your information right as I was not the one how put Korriban in the Darth Bane article in the first place I just Capitalize the planets name. JMasterWor (talk) 00:24, April 15, 2016 (UTC)

Maybe you should check the user before me, the revision as of 20:40, April 14, 2016 and you will see that someone else, not me, changes Moraband to korriban. All I did was again capitalize the 'K'. JMasterWor (talk) 00:42, April 15, 2016 (UTC)

It matters to me. Being blames for something I didn't do. IP made the change that was corrected once by Darth Ravigious and checked on twice by Toprawa and Ralltir with in eleven minutes of the IP user made the original change and yet I was still able to change the 'k' to a 'K' an hour and twenty minutes later. Seems like something if off there, but I only capitalized a 'K'. I can only assume that because I didn't recieve an e-mail saying it had already been changed and it took me to the edit the IP user did. JMasterWor (talk) 01:28, April 15, 2016 (UTC)

Hey Brandon, I just wanted to ask if you would be able to take the protection off of this page? Or maybe even just create it yourself? It was apparently protected as it had been deleted twice, once because of spam and once because of going seven days without verification. I know it really isn't an important page, but I just wanted to create it for Ahnah Rawk's birth. Also, if you can't create it, do you know if someone else can? I just saw that you were Wikia staff, so I took a chance and asked you. Thanks! - LoLuX12 (walkietalkie) 05:09, April 15, 2016 (UTC)

  • I do have the ability to do that as Wikia Staff, but I don't use those abilities here because I haven't been elected as an administrator. I would ask an admin about this. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 16:18, April 15, 2016 (UTC)

"Force warrior" still strikes me as a very weak description and kind of out of touch with the character as he is in the movie because he is, first and foremost, a Knight of Ren. Also, I'm not sure how "master of the Knights of Ren" can be a generalized comment, or at least still not be worked into the sentence. But if that doesn't work, perhaps he could be called just a Knight of Ren? Just reaching out to you since I'd rather discuss it first. AllHailTheFirstOrder (talk) 15:43, April 18, 2016 (UTC)

  • The reason I went with "Force warrior" was because that's reflective of what he's intended to be. "Knight of Ren" is a singular term and I don't think we've ever really seen anyone referred to in that way. Whereas "Force warrior" is something he's been called in the Visual Dictionary. He's meant to be a new breed of Force warrior, someone standing on the balance of light and dark. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 15:44, April 18, 2016 (UTC)
    • I'm still not sure, although I suppose I agree with the singular "Knight of Ren" maybe being kind of speculative since they may even be called Ren Knights or something. My last idea so far is probably something like "a student of Supreme Leader Snoke," although I'd say that's weak as well. But I wouldn't say he's standing on the balance, either, just that his bloodline is, but he still seems pretty devoted to the darkness. Struggling, sure, but far away from any balance. AllHailTheFirstOrder (talk) 15:51, April 18, 2016 (UTC)
      • That point about balance is actually in the Visual Dictionary. The Supreme Leader sees him as an archetype as a new generation of Force warriors. Because of his bloodline, Snoke wanted Ben as his student because Ben had equal potential for light and dark. He is trained to have that balance, which is where his inner conflict ("I'm being torn apart") stems from. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 15:55, April 18, 2016 (UTC)

A New Valorum

I'm going to write a canon page for Tarsus Valorum (like Darth Bane's apprentice/Darth Zannah pages), as the novel Tarkin clearly mentions of him as the Galactic Republic's first Chancellor (excluding the Old Republic) and the role he played in Legends: "At that time, the galaxy's dark age had ended, the Sith had been defeated and driven into hiding, and a true republic had emerged from the ashes. With a member of House Valorum presiding as Supreme Chancellor, a pan-galactic Senate had been created, and the military had been disbanded." But I'm not sure how to name it. Do you suggest "Unidentified Valorum", "Unidentified member of House Valorum", or just "Valorum"? TanDivoInsignia-SenateMurders AnilSerifoglu (talk) 15:14, April 19, 2016 (UTC)

  • Unfortunately, we can't create it. The notability policy has a clause about canon subjects that essentially boils down to: if something was named in Legends but is unidentified in canon, then (with a few noted exceptions) it can't get a canon page until it receives a name in canon. This was done early on after the canon reboot because there are contributors here who don't like "unidentified" pages and were worried about a flood of them after the reboot. Unfortunately, this unidentified Valorum is a fairly clear connection to Tarsus and thus would fall under that clause. The page can't be created unless the policy changes (a change that I would support). Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! - Brandon Rhea(talk) 15:33, April 19, 2016 (UTC)

(This is a reply to the discussion on I would've wrote it there, but I've heard that there is a risk you won't see it, so I'm posting it here. Please bear with me if I'm doing anything wrong, I'm a bit new to this)

You said that you are keeping the link for information and that it is a navigational tool for readers, and I understand that. However I think this role, in this case, is filled by the Behind the Scenes page, which keeps a link and information without implying that the planets are one and the same. If you still feel adamant about this, I respect your opinion but I do still suggest removing it if you do not. Unsigned comment by Motherdragon64 (talk • contribs).

  • Ultimately, the creators have said that the canon Malachor is based on Malachor V. It's a prime example of the basic idea of Legends: that it still exists as a resource and as inspiration for authors in the canon universe. Given that it's accurate, and its importance as a navigational tool, it's important to keep the link. It's clear from the creators that Malachor is based on Malachor V. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 00:03, April 23, 2016 (UTC)

RE: Shaak Ti entry

I'm on my way out of town so I don't really have time to followup with this issue right now. However, Cwedin is incorrect. And I'll pursue it next week when it's more convenient if these edits are not undone by then.

Reference books are of course fair game. I'm not suggesting otherwise. But the information in them must be correct. They are "reference" books meaning that they refer to information [that is correct] that pre-exists. In this case the information itself being referenced is no longer canon and didn't happen [effectively] and should therefore be removed from the canon entry. A test for if the content is canon, is that the reference book itself must be able to source those events in a canon form of narrative. It cannot though because those events aren't canon anymore officially.

Reference authors collect information (canon info in this case) and write it up. They don't give us backstory and what not without it coming from a source other than them. The TFA book provides tons of back info on locations and characters but that information was not written by the reference author. It was written by the novelization author and the creators of the movie and that information was relayed to the reference book author for their book; and it simply hasn't been established in stories yet. It presumably will be established in future films though. Reference authors do not write narratives or stories or decide the fate of characters at all though.

Since we know the events the book is referring to are from the Tartakovsky Clone Wars, and specifically not canon anymore, we know it is incorrect. The reference is specifically wrong until a credible canon narrative source establishes it happened and is still in continuity (this is unlikely though since the franchise has moved on from that era). This is simply how it works. Shaak Ti's death is a good example. She would have 2 distinct canon deaths from 2 different deleted scenes. Would you argue one of those scenes is canon if a reference book refers to it? Even though we know that deleted scenes have been explicitly labeled out of continuity [period] now? No, you would not. Doing it for Tartakovsky Clone Wars events is the same thing and just as incorrect.

As Cwedin points out creators refer to Legends content all the time and may draw from it; but when they do that, great, that is when this event can be considered canon. They may still be considered canon by the creators and be established as canon by a canon comic, novel, movie or tv show, down the road. But but that has not happened yet.

As I said previously, if someone is really committed to keeping that section as is, it should be moved to the "behind the scenes" info section. Because it's not established in canon, any writer for any book, comic, show or movie could come in a write something that completely contradicts that book. Maybe tweeting Pablo Hidalgo would confirm if those events are still considered canon -- if he's not busy maybe he'll weight in. Someone should ask him.

This is a case of doing a little critical thinking, thinking for yourself and checking your sources. This lack of critical thinking is part of the reason for the disarray in the Wookiepedia. In this instance the reference book is wrong until a canon narrative (or creator speaks up on the issue) establishes it in canon. I hope this clears the issue up for Cwedin and whoever else was maintaining the bad info.

--Yca-ca (talk) 02:17, April 28, 2016 (UTC)

  • If you believe that the information is wrong then you'll need to get an official statement from Lucasfilm saying so, as your interpretation is not how Wookieepedia operates. You may be able to get Pablo Hidalgo or Leland Chee to comment on Twitter. Until then, however, please don't remove the information as it is valid under Wookieepedia policies—because its use in a canonical reference book does indeed mean it has been established in canon unless otherwise noted by Lucasfilm. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 02:20, April 28, 2016 (UTC)

RE: Shaak Ti edits

It's not simply my interpretation, it's Lucasfilms'. They've explicitly declared the Tartakovsky Clone Wars and all of the events in it non-canon. If they wanted them canon they would have remained in. It's actually you guys that are choosing to interpret an entry in a Reference book over the explicit press release and announcements that have declared those events Legends.

I'm not the information portal called Wookiepedia, right? The responsibility to provide the correct information is on you guys, not me. In your position you should be removing the entry completely to not "misinform"; otherwise the responsibility is on you to prove that your entry is factually correct since you claim it superceeds the canon established by Lucasfilm. As I said previously, the creators may want that to remain in canon, and in fairness it could go either way since they aren't likely to ever revisit the prequel era in canon. But there's nothing in the canon narratives at all that suggests that it's still in continuity. It must be legitimately confirmed rather than claimed on Wookiepedia. Otherwise, you could use that simple entry as a basis to claim it establishes all of the events of Tartakovsky's CW in canon.

Why don't you guys contact Leland or Hidalgo. I'm sure they're far more likely, and quick, to respond to your group anyhow. Otherwise, I'll ping them next week and see what happens.

--Yca-ca (talk) 07:56, April 28, 2016 (UTC)

  • They re-canonized that particular piece of information through Ultimate Star Wars (there are a number of Legends elements, just not full stories, that have been re-canonized in the last two years). That's a book that was vetted by the Story Group. If you think something is wrong, the responsibility is on you to find out. Otherwise, we will assume that the Story Group got it right. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 14:34, April 28, 2016 (UTC)

Kylo Ren

Hi Brandon! Maybe I shouldn't have moved the whole paragraph but in the novel for the Force Awakens Leia says that Snoke targeted Ben at a younger age and that she tried to protect him from it and hid that from Han, obviously that happened before Bloodline so that was my original intent --Lewisr (talk) 15:53, May 11, 2016 (UTC)

  • Okay, thanks for the info. The section would need to be rewritten to reflect that. Right now, none of that is actually reflected in the text. I would also be careful with the novelization in general, though. The novelization is based on an earlier version of the script and is basically canon until it's not. For example, there are no hints of any of that in Bloodline. So while we can add it, we just need to be aware that it could change in the future. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 15:56, May 11, 2016 (UTC)

Recruiting new Wookiepedia Editors via the Discussion forums

I've been planning a project that would encourage discussion forum members into getting involved with the editing community of Wookiepedia for a little while now. I even teased the community with a place holder as a 'Community Project'. You can see this thread here:

The concept behind these Community Projects is to get people involved in activities that directly support the wiki itself. This was going to be the most important project out of all of them.

I've always stated that the forum members could spearhead any project on their own provided that it linked and supported the wiki.

Well, one young forum member,, took the initiative and went ahead and started it. You can see the thread here:

I've been posting in the thread to make sure everyone understood what is expected and how to approach the project. has also given great advice to the members. Per his request, he stated that we should contact you to see if you also would like to share any information or insight on this project.

Hope to hear from you soon, --ChristopherLeeGallant (talk) 07:02, June 4, 2016 (UTC)

    • I looked on the conversation, so why the Nexus of Power is Canon, not Legends. Please explain.--Padawan14 (talk) 15:07, June 8, 2016 (UTC)
      • Other than The Old Republic, new Legends content is not produced. Nexus of Power contains a lot of information from Star Wars Rebels, which is not Legends. Fantasy Flight Games exist "in the meta," meaning as a product it's neither canon nor Legends, but information within it could be treated as canon when it's based on canonical material. I go into that more in-depth on the talk page. If you have any follow up questions, I'd recommend posting them there just so we can keep it all in one place. That way if other people have these questions too, they'll see the answers right there! - Brandon Rhea(talk) 15:10, June 8, 2016 (UTC)
        • I thought I'd post this here instead of creating a new topic. The FaD CRB has sections with content where it explicitly says that it "should not be treated as canonical truth." These are segregated from the rest of the book and I've noticed them in other new books as well. It seems like the rest of the book can be treated as canon. - AV-6R7Crew Pit 22:27, June 8, 2016 (UTC)
          • That's great to know. We should find a way to note that in the media articles. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 22:29, June 8, 2016 (UTC)
            • Still, there are some errors. The FaD CRB still assigns the Bith to their Legends world, but they were concretely assigned to Bith until very recently, well after the book came out. - AV-6R7Crew Pit 22:35, June 8, 2016 (UTC)

Brandon, since you got the article Attack on Imperial Troop Transports promoted to featured article status, I thought you might be interested to know that I recently discovered that a book based on that episode, TIE Fighter Trouble, which was believed to have been canceled, was in fact actually published in India. I've added it as an appearance in the article, as well as in the behind the scenes. The book is a fairly straight adaptation - it doesn't really add anything knew about it, but I still find it a pretty cool item to have given that up until five days ago the title was listed here on Wookieepedia as canceled. Shame it doesn't have the stickers that were originally announced were going to be with it, though. Ah well. ProfessorTofty (talk) 05:59, June 15, 2016 (UTC)

Hello, Brandon. I see that the original SH thread devoted to the timeline of Star Wars Rebels media has been archived and cannot be edited anymore. Where should I add new intel, then? --LelalMekha (talk) 19:03, July 9, 2016 (UTC)

  • Good catch. I unarchived it. It actually can still be edited, you just have to add ?action=edit to the end of the URL. Which isn't something that anyone should normally do for archived forums, but in this case this particular forum doesn't need archiving. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 23:15, July 10, 2016 (UTC)

Ahsoka Tano page

Would I be able to take the work you've currently done for Ahsoka's page on User:Brandon Rhea/workspace4 and expand on it on my own workspace? When I've finished I'll show you to see what you think. I just wanted to ask permission before I did anything. Thanks a lot! --Kyle03 (talk) 09:00, July 10, 2016 (UTC)

Kylo Ren and his Training as a Jedi

Hello. I want to ask the equestion. Some of the people asking me about that Kylo Ren began his training in 23 year, but some people said that this info wasn't written in the Bloodline. Can you say where was written in the Bloodline that Kylo Ren began his training as a Jedi in an age of 23? --DN345Real (talk) 14:54, July 12, 2016 (UTC)

  • Hey. So it's not that he began his training at 23. It's that he was 23 in Bloodline (and it suggests he started his training earlier). We know he's 23 in the book because of its placement in the timeline. He's 29 in The Force Awakens, and Bloodline is set 6 years before the movie. So with that, we know he was 23 in Bloodline. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 15:30, July 12, 2016 (UTC)
    • Ok. Thanks for information=) I just thought from the article of Kylo Ren that he begun training in age 23. Text from article: By the same age, Ben had begun training with Skywalker as one of the students in his uncle's new generation of Jedi. Can you fix this to avoid misunderstanding?
