3D Edit

Hey, I noticed your comment on the forum about the 3D. Note the date; this is just the annual Wookieepedian April Fools joke.--Doctor Kermit(Complain.) 02:56, April 1, 2011 (UTC)

User page infoEdit

Hello Darth Needham. I was going to write a nice instructional, but the code wasn't coming out very well. Some advice: go to my userpage (or anyone else's) and click "edit". DO NOT actually edit the page, but if you click edit then you can look at the codes that make the page, and then copy it to yours, tailoring it to however you like it. If you use mine, you'll see that some of the userboxes are defaults, whereas others are customized. Just play around with copies of that code and you should be fine. Let me (or any administrators) know if you need help. I hope that helps! Taral, Dark Lord of the Sith -Just shy, not antisocial: You can talk to me!- 00:08, April 3, 2011 (UTC)

Please stop Edit

Please stop adding pointless and incorrectly placed and formatted links, and removing useful red links from articles. These edits serve no purpose and are actually lowering the general quality of each individual article. Thank you. Toprawa and Ralltiir 03:08, April 15, 2011 (UTC)

  • Your second notice to please stop adding unproductive links to articles. I would recommend reading Wookieepedia's Manual of Style section on article linking before attempting to make anymore edits. If you continue to do this, further administrative action may be pursued. Thank you. 03:58, April 15, 2011 (UTC)

Rawwrr! Edit

Hey there! Yeah, you're totally free to tackle Ralrracheen if you want. If you're missing any of the novels, I can help you out; he has a very small role in everything save for Heir to the Empire, in which he plays a sizeable role. I can also get you his Star Wars Encyclopedia entry if you want, and Borsk Fey'lya is the guy to ask for Fact File info. Hooray! Menkooroo 01:58, April 21, 2011 (UTC)

  • I'd say no. His only appearance after the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances is established is at the end of The Unifying Force. I don't think he was ever actually affiliated with the New Republic, either. Menkooroo 17:21, April 22, 2011 (UTC)
    • Yeah it looks like you have enough edits to vote. You just need fifty mainspace edits, "mainspace" simply meaning actual articles (as opposed to talk pages, forums, etc). I'm not sure what you mean by "Vector" --- do you mean Hero's Trial or The Unifying Force? But in Tyrant's Test, Ralrracheen is mentioned just one time. Chewbacca is on Kashyyyk guiding Lumpawarrump through his coming-of-age Hrrtayyk ceremony and finds out that Han has been kidnapped by the Duskhan League. He prepares to leave Kashyyyk and go rescue Han. Ralrracheen sends a message to Leia, who is the Chief of State of the New Republic, on Chewbacca's behalf, letting her know that Chewie is going to stage a rescue attempt. Ralracheen doesn't appear in the book; he is only mentioned by Mallatobuck. The exact text is: [Has there been any further news?] [The grids are silent. The misfortune that has befallen our friend is not yet public knowledge. Ralrracheen has sent a message to the Princess on your behalf, but there has been no reply.] The first speaker is Chewie and the second is Malla. I hope that helps. Menkooroo 04:12, April 24, 2011 (UTC)
      • Hey there. Ralrracheen isn't in Vector Prime, nor is he mentioned in it. Menkooroo 04:21, April 24, 2011 (UTC)
        • Ralrracheen appears in just one scene of Hero's Trial, but he has a pretty large role in it. Send me an e-mail at gradualferguson@hotmail.com, and I'll e-mail you the text from that scene. Menkooroo 05:04, April 24, 2011 (UTC)
  • What I recommend is waiting until after you've written the entire biography before you write "Personality and traits" and "Skills and abilities." Whenever I'm reading through books 'n comics 'n sourcebooks 'n stuff for Biography info, I always make separate notes when I come across something that's good P&t/S&a info. So, if you've written the entire biography, you know that you've collected all possible material for P&t/S&a. I can tell you right now that the biography still has a long way to go, especially in terms of describing and detailing his role in Heir to the Empire and at Chewbacca's funeral in Hero's Trial. Check out some other featured articles to get an idea of the level of detail you should be including. Menkooroo 04:32, April 26, 2011 (UTC)
  • Unfortunately, I don't really have time to make that kind of contribution to the article. If you want to tackle it yourself, I'd be more than willing to help you edit it afterward. Go for it! Write out a first draft and see how it looks. It'll probably be better than you think. Menkooroo 00:00, May 3, 2011 (UTC)
    • Not sure of the page number, but the funeral takes place in Chapter two. Very near the beginning of the book; should be easy to find. Menkooroo 01:12, May 4, 2011 (UTC)
  • Hey there! I want to encourage you to keep improving the article yourself. Unfortunately, it's still at the point where any additions I made would be large rewrites and overhauls. Familiarize yourself with Wookieepedia's sourcing policy --- all of the info you put in there needs to be referenced. Check out other featured articles and notice the superscripted numbers in square brackets that end every paragraph. Looking at other featured articles will also give you an idea of the kind of detail that should be in an article. Look at Salporin for a good example of detail given on Leia's trip to Kashyyyk, and look at Lumpawaroo for an example of detail necessary for Chewbacca's funeral. Menkooroo 05:00, May 10, 2011 (UTC)

WP:POINT Edit

Hey Darth Needham. While I understand your stance on the ongoing CT thread, please do not nominate yourself to be an EC member just to prove a point. Nominations like that will not be received well by the community, for they're not nominations; they're just exploitations of the nomination system. I would recommend that you become more familiar with all of Wookieepedia's policies before continuing to contribute. Thank you. CC7567 (talk) 20:31, April 30, 2011 (UTC)

  • If the length of this discussion is bothering you, please don't let it. The discussion has been going on this long because the community wants to find the best solution possible, and that takes time. Also, please do not shout; caps are interpreted as shouting on the internet, which isn't always taken politely. Thank you. CC7567 (talk) 21:00, April 30, 2011 (UTC)

DisruptionEdit

The only reasons you would attempt to nominate Shard as a CA are if you are deliberately violating the rules for the purpose of disrupting the wiki, or you are a complete idiot. Either way, if you do not cease your disruptive behavior, I will block you for the good of the community. Consider this your final warning. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 23:27, May 4, 2011 (UTC)

The Koon Edit

Hey there! It appears that you've simply made a spelling error. You put "TCM" instead of "TCW" in the filename. Fix it and it should work out fine. :) Menkooroo 04:51, May 20, 2011 (UTC)

Got your back Edit

Hi Needham. I just wanted to follow-up on the thread on the Knowledge Bank about Kashyyyk. I've just posted something about NaruHina being unconstructive when you were asking a simple question (I really hate it when people go on tirades about Lucas not respecting the EU, like he did). I also want to thank you for your kind word about my theory on Force abilities (my answer to the question on why Luke couldn't sense Alderaan, but why Jaina/Jacen could sense Carida). Taral, Dark Lord of the Sith -Just shy, not antisocial: You can talk to me!- 17:53, May 30, 2011 (UTC)

Hiya Edit

If you want to say something to me, then leave me a message on my talk page, please. Karen Traviss did not make "mistakes" and she has admitted this herself. she overwrote continuity to suit her own stories because she saw Star Wars as an "organic" story that would just be bogged down if they followed prior continuity completely. That Star Wars has a lot of continuity focused around main charcaters is not a problem with the universe, it is rather a challenge to the authors to keep them in character and their histories straight. Karpyshyn referring to Vapaad in DB:PoD was a mistake, overwriting Boba Fett's entire psychological history was not. And, even then, whereas Karpyshyn apologized and fixed the error, Traviss insulted the people who pointed out continuity errors in her works. This aggrivated the problem further and eventually her flippancy on the issue created her vehement detractors, the "Talifans" (which, needless to say, just worsened it further still). Note that this argument has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of her actual prose, but is entirly based upon her disrespect for the works of previous authors and her disregarding their contributions for the sake of her own plot. That's an entirely different school of poor writing. NaruHina Talk Anakinsolo 17:44, June 2, 2011 (UTC)

  • By "people make mistakes," and your accusations of Lucas Bashing, I thought you were extending our chat into the general authors, so I picked the shining beacon example of what I was talking about. As far as the Han Solo Trilogy alone is concerned, it was written in 1997, so that still wasn't a mistake as sources like KOTOR were published afterward (they actually made the mistake and ran with it :) ). I still don't condone that, but BioWare made plenty of an effort to reference other elements of the universe and keep it cohesive, while authors like KT ignore canon. That's my point. An example of handling the author's role in an EU done very well is Elegos A'Kla. Zahn created the Camaasi species, then Stackpole made this character for I, Jedi. A little while later, Zahn wrote the second book in his series and included this character with the same personality as established by Stackpole. This is what it means to write in a continuity. Anyway, we can agree to disagree on this if you'd like. NaruHina Talk Anakinsolo 01:42, June 3, 2011 (UTC)
    • Neat. Glad this worked out well then. Happy editing. NaruHina Talk Anakinsolo 20:06, June 3, 2011 (UTC)

Yo needham Edit

Hey I was just wonderin' do you have Skype or MSN so we can chat over the summer(Take a guess who this is. It ain't to hard to figure out)

Really not sure who this is, it could be joey, charly, Menkooroo, or someone elsa. Darth Needham 19:20, June 3, 2011 (UTC)

Hint, I didn't show up to school yesterday and I talk to you about swtor Geek42

Bengy! Hey glad you made a account! I'll give you my cell number on your talk okay. Darth Needham 19:44, June 3, 2011 (UTC)

To make your user page all fancy like go to this page for help - Wookieepedia:Editing FAQ -, if you have any problems just ask for some help. (925-550-6473) Darth Needham 19:51, June 3, 2011 (UTC)

I tried calling you and went into voice mail :P Geek42

Batteries are charging, but thats the right number. By the way do you want any help on your user page set up? Darth Needham 20:33, June 3, 2011 (UTC)

Your phone is still dead 0_0 Anyways um do you know if I can put pictures on my page that aren't from this website because my cousin got one of his friends to draw a picture of me as a Jedi and I found it awesome. Geek42

I think you can, however I don't know how, however I can set up user boxes and a info box for you. Darth Needham 21:30, June 3, 2011 (UTC)

Hey Ben. They released another new trailer for swtor. It's a raid trailer. It's on Belsavis and an ancient alien empire locked technology and people. In the trailer you can see Rakatan statues and the players fighting Red Rakatans. My guess the Infinite Empire.

Wow really cool. By the way I checked Malgus'es page and the Sith Pure blood was his master. Darth Needham 20:17, June 9, 2011 (UTC)

I was just wondering can I have my Kotor II back? Kinda want to beat it. Like Republic Commandos had it for years...just never got around to beating it. Like how it took my like 6-7 years for me to beat Kotor.

Ya sure, but I'm close to beating it again with extreme force powers, but if you want it soon I can drop it off when ever. Darth Needham 15:59, June 23, 2011 (UTC)

WP:SIV Edit

Hey Needham. Please note the Single-issue voters policy—the reason why your votes have been struck lately. Imperators II(Talk) 20:57, June 6, 2011 (UTC)

  • Just to be a bit more specific, your votes have been struck because of the productivity requirement clause of that policy. See your edit count for reference. You must edit the main namespace a combined total of 333 times before you will be eligible to vote on policy because your edits in the MN must be at least double those in the Forum:, User:, and User Talk: namespaces. NaruHina Talk Anakinsolo 23:32, June 6, 2011 (UTC)

Ralrra Edit

Hey there. The Wookiee barn-burner is largely over, and Ralrracheen still needs a lot of work. I didn't actually sign on to be a co-author of the article; I was just trying to guide you along in the process of writing him so that you could make an attempt at it yourself. If you still want to write him, I recommend trying your hand at some shorter articles first that would end up being Good Article nominations rather than Featured Article nominations. It's a really good way to get your feet wet and to learn the ropes of artice writing. Menkooroo 14:29, June 8, 2011 (UTC)

PS-29-3 Edit

Hello Darth Needham, I would like to inform you that, to the sum of my knowledge, PS-29-3's P & T is not lacking in any way, but there's simply just too limited info about him to really say anything about his personality. For reference, check out the P & T in other quality articles, such as my good articles Hudiss, Dainsom and NT-311. Hanzo Hasashi 17:03, June 8, 2011 (UTC)

  • Hey Darth Needham, if you agree with me about PS-29-3's P & T being complete enough due to the limited info about him, can you strike your objections on the nom? Thanks. Hanzo Hasashi 14:18, June 9, 2011 (UTC)
    • That is right, there is nothing known about his personality. Hanzo Hasashi 20:53, June 9, 2011 (UTC)

Linking Edit

Hey, DN! I think it's great that you're going around adding links to articles. There are a few things to keep in mind as you do so, though. First, make sure that if you link something in an article, it hasn't been linked to already. Things should be linked a maximum of three times: once in the introduction, once in the infobox, and once in the body. Second, when linking colors, be sure you follow the system set up by the original author. Some people link every color separately, but others (such as myself) link the word color the first time a color is mentioned and leave the rest alone. This is done by typing, say, green. Feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions, and keep up the hard work. :) ~SavageBOB sig 21:20, June 9, 2011 (UTC)

  • I agree with your way of sourcing, however when I'm linking userboxes I always link it to the actual color because its referring to characteristics of someone or something, I also do this if it's describing something/one in the article. As for double or triple linking, sometimes I just simply miss the other links. However thank you for the advice its always welcome. Darth Needham 21:29, June 9, 2011 (UTC)
    • Just a followup; I don't want to discourage you from linking, but if you see that someone has used the green style, even if it's in an infobox, you have to respect that decision. It's not fair to impose your own style when another editor has gone to all the trouble to write the article. There was a CT about this a while back, and this was the compromise that was reached. Cheers, ~SavageBOB sig 21:50, June 9, 2011 (UTC)
  • yes I completely agree with you on that I don't ever change something like that, however I find that people are always simply putting credit and not Galactic Credit Standard, so in the case of a redirect I will always change it even if I start A edit war over it, but I doubt that will happen. (by the way I wan't to try something on my talk page, I want to see what people think I look like my age, that kind of thing, because for some reason when I see people's tags I come to decisions without reading their bio., so if you could post on that and spread the word that would be great). Darth Needham 21:59, June 9, 2011 (UTC)
    • Like I said, keep up the good work, DN! :) As for the talk page question, I'm not sure I can help. My knowledge of that kind of thing is pretty limited. Good luck, though! ~SavageBOB sig 22:29, June 9, 2011 (UTC)

Barn-burner Edit

Needham, although I'm glad you want to participate in the barn-burner, I can guarantee that the dual-phase lightsaber will be well over 250 words and should not be put up on the CAN. If you want, try and write out the article and see how long it is before nominating it, because in its current state, it is nowhere near what a promoted article should be like. Kilson(Let's have a chat) 01:20, July 23, 2011 (UTC)

  • Try to look around for smaller weapon articles that have only one or two sources that you can work on. I have a number of suggestions up on the barn-burner page. Don't be discouraged though, everyone has to start somewhere. Kilson(Let's have a chat) 01:32, July 23, 2011 (UTC)

Meter Edit

Hey, Darth Needham, just to let you know, for any mentioning of "meter," please link it to meters. The article you're currently linking "meter" to is a redirect to the Imperial standard meter article. Thanks, JangFett (Talk) 00:00, July 24, 2011 (UTC)

  • Again, please read what I have said above. Also, you don't have to link specific colors to their disambig pages. Instead, it's more appropriate to do white, ect. Thank you for your cooperation. JangFett (Talk) 22:52, August 20, 2011 (UTC)
    • Linking to disambiguation or redirects is frowned upon as a general rule. We do have a color article which is linked to in most recent FA/GAs because it's more proper to do so. You incorrectly linked "red" in one of my own GAs, and I had to revert that edit. In the future, please pay close attention to your linking, especially if you're editing in promoted articles, such as the article I linked above (Vindican). JangFett (Talk) 22:59, August 20, 2011 (UTC)
      • I am going to politely ask you to please be more careful when you're linking meter to Imperial standard meter. This is incorrect. If you take a look at the bolded words above, the "s" from meters needs to go inside the double bracket, as it's proper formatting. As for the colors, please avoid linking the disambig colors to articles, especially to promoted articles. I shouldn't have to repeat myself. Thank you. JangFett (Talk) 23:07, August 20, 2011 (UTC)
  • As these matters have since been brought to my attention as an administrator, allow me to reinforce what JangFett is trying to get through to you, Darth Needham. Jang is correct in that when pipelinking something, the entire word should be enclosed within the brackets for basic technical markup purposes. In other words, meters, not meters. This is a minor thing, but if you're going to make an effort to pipelink things, you should do so correctly. Continuing to do it the incorrect way, especially after someone is trying to explain to you the correct way, is not constructive to this wiki. This shouldn't require a formal warning notice on my part, so please take some time to heed this advice see that you correct this bit and not prolong this issue. If this continues to be an issue, then we may have a problem. Thank you for your cooperation. Toprawa and Ralltiir 04:37, August 25, 2011 (UTC)

Reciprocating quad blaster Edit

Like I told you before, Needham, you need to work on smaller articles that have only one or two sources. Also, you need to look at other articles. It should be obvious that an article like that should be over 250 words, and could be over 1000 when it's all done. Please, think before you nominate an article in the future. Before nominating an article, you should have edited it at least a dozen times and increased it by a great amount. Kilson(Let's have a chat) 00:41, July 24, 2011 (UTC)

Knowledge Bank Edit

Hey saw your answer on Forum:KB:Switch on/off and you mentioned something about reading about a similar instance in Path of the Jedi. Im curious, could you be more specific?Supershadow3 (talk) 04:23, July 1, 2012 (UTC)

Hey Ben, I know this is last notice but how big your is your jedi costume? While I have my own; My nephew might be going with me to SDCC and he'd like to be dressed up as one if he's going. So if you can call me or something as soon as possible if you can and if you can't don't sweat it.

WP:KOTOR Edit

As of 0:00 UTC (8:00 PM EST), I have assumed responsibilities for leading this project, due to my predecessor Cylka's inactivity. Wherever she is, I wish her well in her endeavors, and should she come back, I will gladly turn over leadership back to her. Over the next few weeks, I look forward to reviewing more articles and also wish to get more KotOR-related projects off the ground, and look forward to moving forward to bettering this project and ultimately Wookieepedia.
